  1. Ha, well I mouthed off and priced my last three Macks high thinking the other guy would balk but he handed me a check every time maybe my idea of high isnt high enough. I miss my 84 but this one has more potential and was alot cleaner than the other one when I got it so I guess I better keep walking away when I get frustrated so I dont price this one, although I guess I would let it go for a Million or so without too much thought.
  2. I used to have the p/n for oversized liners/pistons they add a few cubes over the 1000 mark I cant remember what the actual displacement was now Ill try to find the info. I know the Killer Mack and Buckeye Bulldog are over 1000, way over I was told. not to mention quad turboed and nitrous and water injected, you know for fuel economy.
  3. I have new door seals, mirrors, headlights, bumper, lug nut covers, center caps, vent visors, fenders, carpet, etc., etc., I wont get it done this year but I will show it off just the same Im proud of it just for what it is they are getting hard to find in decent shape.
  4. do a google maps or google earth search for 1700 e. hwy 329 sparr fl, you can see some interesting stuff on street view like a b model tractor and a kw w900a model.
  5. I got excited and now with no replys its like a big let down, wth man?
  6. Well I almost lost it and sold the truck twice but they are done and an E9 sounds sweet thru 6" miters, I have someone coing to do some aluminum polishing next weekend so I can get other things done so it looks like I will make it to the ATHS show in Cookeville.
  7. I have asked about other cabs from that order and from what I can find they were the only 5 crew cab R's ever built by Mack and after that they never stamped another wall or roof panel out, they only made enough parts to make the 5 then kept the dies on ice until they were told there would not be another order by fdny. I wonder where the stamping dies went for the panels, you never know they may be in a warehouse in PA somehwere collecting dust waiting to be discovered like so many GM dies have been over the years.
  8. Ok wtf man, volumetrics, and cfm I hate this auto correct crap my phone doesn't know a thing about mechanics and engineering.
  9. You need to forget about that idea quick unless you want a divorce, you have the right engine to hot rod we just have to do the math to get you a good Turbo and then its just timing and fuel. I still think a series 60 wastegated Turbo would make it run like hell it has the right volumetric for making tons of com for that e6.
  10. unless there was some majic involved an E9 wont fit under the hood of an RD or RS only an RW Superliner it hangs over the frame on both sides Ive got one outside now. The early Mack v8's had bolts in the center of the valve covers, the E9 has 4 bolt covers with the bolts on the perimeter two up top and two on the bottom.the 865 has two in the center.
  11. On an E7? wow you must have run into every possible issue I think that E7's in superliners are the easiest trucks I have ever touched, you can almost lay down behind the engine under the hood, I got used to working on T800KW's and set back Freightliners at Howard Baer you cant get two fingers around the engine, they SUCK!
  12. Im trying, I got under it today trying to finish the exhaust, I put a few more pieces inside and I went and picked up my tires so I should be ready to drive up there, it wont be real pretty but driveable. I am going to try to just spray the frame real quick and get everything in good roadworthy condition then go back thru it this winter and stretch the frame and do the paint on it right, I hsould have the exhaust finished right and the engine painted by the show I wont have new fenders on it then.
  13. I think the name was Ajax truck lines not trucking but I am still coming up short on pics.
  14. Does anyone have any pics of Ajax trucking b models, I have a friend whose uncles apparently owned the company and he doesn't have any pics, he liked the old integral sleeper b models they had.
  15. Woops that didn't work, fleetpride in murfreesboro tn can have the rain caps in one or two days, aluminized was$23 chrome is $27 their phone number is 615-867-3966 but any fleetpride can get them for you, hopefully they will give you the same pricing if not email me ill go get em for ya and mail em to you.
  16. need a front driveline section, carrier bearing and mounting bracket and the crossmember its bolted to for a double frame truck.
  17. I forgot all about flipping the gears I have never seen it done only heard about it from back in the day, with the overall gearing hes got(short tires 4.42 gears) he might be good with that.
  18. Actually if memory serves me right the eaton transmission rear (OD) box is not there to get an OD trans to run double OD its made to fit a NON OD trans there is something about the gear tooth count that wont work on an OD trans, the same with the LOW gear set box for an 8LL and 18/15L etc. the Low gear set box works with the OD trans the OD box works with the direct trans. I cant rmember what it was but Ill do some looking for my old overhaul manuals.
  19. An RTX 9 and an eaton 13spd both have the same top gear ratio, one has .73 in 9th the other has .73 in 13th. I know it can be confusing if you are new to it but it comes with time, the easiest way to get more road speed is taller tires, with an 11R24.5 tire, eaton OD trans(.73OD) and a Mack 4.42 rear you get about 74mph at 1800. I try not to turn my truck that high for extended periods I like the 15 to 1600 rpm range its a lot easier on the engine, I think with your current road speed the best gear ratio for you to try would be 3.86 there are carriers out there with this ratio(I am actually wanting a set now I have 4.64 gears) I know that 4.17 is a good ratio for taller tires like 11r24.5's but sounds like you are running 22.5's with the rpm you are turning. I would ask are you running spoke wheels or budd/disc wheels? if you are running budd wheels a wheel tire swap would be a lot cheaper than a gear swap if you can get a tire shop or other truck owner to give you some money for yours, a set of CRD92/93 chunks with 3.86 gears will be $1500 to $4000 depending on condition. I hope that info helped I have been there before and like I said I want to make a swap now Im just waiting on winter (and more money).
  20. I can find out tomorrow if I remember, last set i bought were aluminized 4" for some equipment and I think they were only like $20 a piece the chrome 5's I would guess about $30 a piece not bad considering the amount of metal forming involved.
  21. Thanks all for the comments, I just got done priming the mount for the other side Ill have it painted tonight and be ready to get the other side on tomorrow. I just want to let other Super Liner owners know that the factory y pipe for an E9 is $1300 bucks and there are only 6 in the Mack parts inventory. I found a way to get one made for about $500 and the company has the pattern but they dont stock it so it takes 4 to 6 weeks lead time, I am just making my own exhaust under the truck with 5" elbows and a y looks like its going to cost me about $350 for everything under the truck(we wont discuss the 6" x 96" stacks and 6" elbows).
  22. I looked it up in my parts books, power products chrome 5" raincap p/n is rc500c, for zinc wash just drop the c at the end of the p/n almost every truck parts place can order their stuff now.
  23. I called them a month a go they said it would be a little while they were backed up and doing some moving around, I am not going to complain the last time I got an owners manual, brochure, line sheet and some deler and shipping info.
