No when my grandpa aka"pop" passed in 2005 I haad to sell everything due no will & probate court ordered it sold . the day everything went into probate I had 75 loads of dirt sold to a buddy of mine w/ 3 tri axle Dumps all I had to do was load his trucks . I was told by the probate judge if I cranked the track hoe I was gonna be put in 201 for Contempt of court . (those away from Memphis that's the Shelby co jail in downtown Memphis . they say that address everyone in mid south knows where they are talking bout ) had to let another buddy of mine sell my buddy w/ the trucks the dirt . it wasn't long after that I went to work for my buddy who sold us our tires & driving for him & our old foreman operating for him when he needs me . I stay in the 1 Ton w/ tire trailer more tho . . The dirt just didn't get on my family's hands it got in our blood . id like to get back into the excavating business again one day Lord knows I miss it everyday . We hauled the contaminated dirt to BFI Here in Millington . & ya Ms doesn't recognize a 3rd axle 15 ton limit on a dump truck if I remember right . (but don't quote me on that)

Not sure bout Ar law on contaminated dirt but when my family was in business we had a contract hauling contaminated dirt & the drivers had to have a Haz Mat endorsement here across the big muddy in Tn according to the DOT HERE @ the time . like hatcity said id check the local DOT Law in Ar. hope this helps aka bulldog man on BMT .

  16. all this talk bout GMC's makes me want to go to West Memphis,Ar & see if my granddad's ole 74' GMC 9500 S/A Tractor w/ 671 (238) Detroit 5&2 tranny belly blower exhaust double frame & 23k r/a is still @ his old buddies shop . my pop traded "LIL Jim" for a Kawaski 4wd 4 wheeler in 2004 a year before he passed . i didnt speak to him for a month over that . that truck was in the family business & on the farm since i could remember & for so long that it was 1 of my favorite trucks. & besides next to old dog & a 1370 Case Tractor it was 1 of 1st things i learned out to drive . used to like to hear that ole 238 LOPE ON A COLD WINTER MORNING . NEVER Had to use Starting fluid on him just make sure he had a HOT 8D Battery in the Battery Box & that ole 238 would come to life . last time i seen it it was sitting behind his old buddies shop on Hwy 70 that was 2 yrs ago when i went to Heartland Equipment just outside of W. Memphis w/ a buddy to pick up parts for a 1566 IH Black Stripe Farmall. just hope lil jim wasnt sold for scrap . i may ride over the bridge this weekend to see if its still there . my curosity is up now .
  17. What a shame to see that ole SuperDog Rusting away . looks like a good project truck . wouldnt mind having it myself
  18. Looking Good Vinny . yall keep up the good work on the U Model .
  19. Nice trucks There im a fan of the steel nose Bulldog's myself (or Flintstone as our Friends down under call them ) & ya i like the sound of a 237 too . thats what i was rasied on was a 711 Thermodyne & a E6 237 Maxidyne . like the sound of a 673 & 711 Thermodyne just shade better but still the 237 is 1 of my favorite motors esp stright piped . when i was growing up & i herd A 237 start up & i didnt have to go to school that morning i was running out the door to catch our driver & ole Red (our 77 DM Tandem dump ) . the drivers used to laugh & Shake thier heads cause id come out the door running after those bulldogs . i had rather been in a cab of a than my maw maw Cadillac or my pops P/U .
  20. very interesting thread . im enjoying reading this this thread & learning more by the minute of what all dad may had done to make the 711 work in old dog. i always wondered if he may had beefed up the springs on the steer axle wish he was around to ask him later
  21. Mark ive Got a uncle by marriage who has a 69 Buick GS Fully restored when he 1st bought it it was in a field & he had to cut a sapling tree out of the engine compartment . now it looks like it came off the showroom floor & it does pretty good down the strip too .
  22. GTO = Gas Tires & Oil . im partial to the 55 56 57 Chevy Bel Air & 64 Chevy Impala SS Myself (all set up for street or strip like dad had )
  23. My dad bought the B422T Thats in my profile pic from friends of the family it had a blown 438 Mack gas motor & dad took the gas motor out & put a 711 down in "old dog" left the 10spd duplex & 6:17 Ratio Rear end in it & old dog wont run but about 48 to 50 mph flatout but will pull a house down when he is running . The Truck was 1 of our farm trucks (the only 1 that would pull 1,000 bushels of soybeans & wheat out of the bottoms loaded) the other trucks were gas bunner ford & Chevy's & a 74 GMC 9500 S/A W/238 Detroit & 5&2 tranny old dog was also in our small excavating company so it did double duty & was our lowboy for many years & hauled our D5B Cat, 955L Cat & 225 Cat from job to job round the Memphis area . Another friend of the family has old dog now & gonna get him running & hopfully restored & put under a lowboy to move his dozer around on the farm & from field to field or from the farm shop to the field . I Know we are talking bout a B 42 But i know a B422T Is similar specs cause i remember when i was growing up & after my dad passed when i was 2 . My granddad & great uncle still had a few B42's that dad bought for parts still on the farm . Good luck w/ your project & keep us posted . (my namesake is my profile pic ..lol )
