  1. I was told the Vision radiator sits lower in the frame to accommodate the lower hood.
  2. Robert, Welcome to the group. I am new to the group also and still learning the site. There are a lot of knowledgeable and friendly people on here. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
  3. Truck is sitting near Congress Lake Road and Swartz Road. Larry - might be interested in attending April 26th (depending on weather and job). Need to get OH title and license before then. I was going to do it today but "honey do" list took priority. The 11th doesn't look much better (Easter weekend). You can email me directly at farmer52 at yahoo dot com.
  4. The rear tires are new and not out of round or balance. But I am sure they will not stay that way. I think the MHs were built until 1994 but I may be wrong. It has the EM7-300 engine, built January 23, 1992, and delivered to Martin's February 20, 1992.
  5. Hi Larry! I actually live in Jackson Township and keep my truck at my friend's farm near Suffield. Thanks for the Outville show date. Do you know if the NE OH Chapter has a show? I see there is a Mack show in Lititz, PA in October. I may try to attend. I am going to install an air ride passenger seat and am having the mounting brackets fabricated.
  6. Yes cab air ride is working okay (to the best of my knowledge). While I am not physically bouncing in the cab, the rear of the truck is skipping along. My concern is on wet highways and when using cruise control. Not sure about stability on wet highways. Can't be good on the cruise setting if rear is bouncing (not good on tires either).
  7. Sent AC an email last night. They replied today and the price is $1600 plus freight FOB CA. There is a dealer near me that sells and installs this suspension. I am going to call them for a quote. But for $1600 I will just "bounce" along until I get a trailer. Ken
  8. Rob I received an answer to my email note to AC. The list price is $1600 plus freight FOB CA and they sent me a list of dealers. There is one close to me. I am going to call them and get a price. But for $1600 I will probably just "bounce" along until I get a trailer. Ken
  9. Glenn - received your email note but not the photos. Price? Thanks!
  10. Yes, I found the light and switch with help from Flag City Mack; Findlay, OH and have them on order.
  11. Thanks Paul for the information. The truck has new recap Michelin XDN2 11R22.5 radial tires. I am pursuing a 40' drop van (moving van). Do you think an empty trailer will be enough to smooth the ride?
  12. I have been a member for about a month so I thought I would introduce myself. I am originally from central PA (Blair County) and raised on a farm. I have an engineering degree and at one time worked for in Hagerstown. I collect and restore farm tractors and keep them at my mother's farm in PA. I currently live near Canton, OH and have owned a 1962 H62 (early 1990s) and a 1988 MH612 (2003 timeframe). I sold them both but I still have the bug. I recently bought a 100% 1992 MH612 EM7-300 w/T2050 transmission that was purchased new and owned by Martin's Pastry in Chambersburg, PA. The selling dealer was A&B Garage (no longer a dealer). The 1988 came from the same fleet. Their trucks are clean and well maintained. I finally got the MH home last weekend. Now the fun begins, replacing the little things to make it just right. My list of things I want to do keeps growing. I have a lead on a 40' drop van (moving van) that I am trying to purchase to haul some of my tractors to shows. I am planning to attend the Watt's show in August. If anyone knows of truck shows within a few hours of Canton, please let me know. Here are some photos of my MH.
  13. I finally got my MH612 home today. An uneventful drive (340 miles) but the PA turnpike about did me in. The truck bounced most of the time when on anything but smooth pavement. Thank God for an air ride seat. It would be nice to have an air ride suspension. How difficult would it be to convert a single axle spring suspension to an air ride? I am sure it is not cheap. Has anyone done the conversion? If it can be done, is it a "bolt up" or does the frame need to be drilled? Thanks!
  14. David Thanks for the post and phone number. I may have found the correct part numbers but I will give you a call next week to discuss prices and other MH parts. Thanks again! Update: I was able to salvage one light from a truck at Adelman's in Canton, but the switches are toast. MATS - no luck but nice show and good crowd on Friday.
  15. There should be a nameplate on the tank that states the capacity of the tank. If not, the approximate capacity can be calculated. Measure the diameter (inches) and square the number (i.e. 24" = 576 square inches). Then measure the length (inches). Multiply the diameter squared by 3.14 and divide by 4. Multiply that number by the length (in inches). Then multiply that number by 0.0043 to get gallons. Example a 24" diameter tank 36" long equals 70 gallons. The actual refill capacity will be less since the filler hole is not directly on top of the tank. Hope this helps.
  16. Yes, Adelman's - have 2 that are stripped of most everything valuable. I plan to go back in a few weeks to look again. R&R is where I get most of my parts. I did not see any MHs but will check the next time I am there. Winer nothing in the way of MHs. I plan to attend MATS on Thursday and Friday...making my list! As for the cargo door weatherstip, part number 570AMM6M (minimum order of 6 meters @ $6 per meter) replaces 570AM5M. This is the number a Mack dealer gave me but I do not know if it is the same. Hope this helps. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
  17. Mike, Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the local yard here in the Canton today and they have two (2) MHs but picked over. Nothing else in the area. Do you know any good yards that might have MHs? I am going to MATS in Louisville, KY the end of the week and planning to search for yards on the way to Louisville. Definately will be on the phone Monday to Littelfuse and Arrow.
  18. I need some help locating either the Mack part numbers or aftermarket parts for the stowage compartment lamp and switch. The lamp is clear and the following is moulded in the lens "ARROW 20023". I did a search on the internet and found two (2) Arrow lamps. They look the same but neither use a 194 spade bulb. The switch is a momentary type that is spring loaded (white and about 3/4" in diameter) and makes contact (turns on the light) when you open the compartment door. The switch has LITTELFUSE moulded in the back. Again I did a search and I found the LITTELFUSE website but they do not list the switch or anything close. I searched (read) every page in my parts book (specific to my truck) and I cannot find the lamp or switch listed anywhere. It does mention the lamps in the wiring diagram but does not list the part numbers. I really want to keep it 100% original. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for any help!
  19. Hi Terry! Nice pictures of old Macks. I just bought a MH612 that was part of Martin's Pastry (Potato Rolls) fleet in Chambersburg, PA. The one I am purchasing is a 1992 with an EM7-300 engine, T2050 transmission, and Mack rear axle. It is still in Chambersburg but will be getting it to OH sometime in March. Do you know of any MH's sitting in salvage yards? I am looking for a dual exhaust set-up, air ride passenger seat brackets, and trailer hook-up light. I will try to post some pictures of my MH612 when I get it home.
  20. Being new to the group, I have some questions about the show. 1. Is the show held at your dealer or some other place? 2. What are the hours of the show? 3. Show admission? Thanks! Ken
