Leaving for Hersey in an an hour or so.I figured I'd leave this for yall to ponder.
A young Arab asks his father, "What is that weird hat you are wearing?"
The father said, "Why, it's a 'chechia' because in the desert it protects our heads from the sun."
"And what is this type of clothing that you are wearing?" asked the young man.
"It's a 'djbellah' because in the desert it is very hot and it protects your body." said the father.
The son asked, "And what about those ugly shoes on your feet?
His father replied, "These are 'babouches", which keep us from burning our feet when in the desert."
"Tell me," added the boy.
"Yes, my son?"
"Why are you living in Dearborn, Michigan and still wearing all this shit?"

I've seen that truck some where before. I think it was in Bob Gilbreaths Old Truck Home site. Valve is relevent, can't restore one for that and it appears fairly nice and complete. Paul

So very sorry.. Paul

Jamacia Ash still has a few and where we are Holab Recyling and Artic Fuel each have around 30 betwen them. They are the MR or MF's though. I think Holabs are LNG fueled also. Always liked them better than the Mid Liners too. Paul

That '25 was a neat unit. I thought it was a worth while buy. The little guy wasn't even interested. One of the early shows they fount the original Levi Jeans Wild West Puppet Show tractor and trailer from 1940, couldn't care less. Paul

I have a books from the ATHS on trucking pioneers and I think they are in the 8th or 9th book. with a few photos. I'll see if it is accessable next week before we leave for Hersey. If it was on Long Island almost every sand and gravel rig has Shamrocks on them.
Can't the Mack museum give the purchase / build order history on your truck from the VIN number? Paul

Paul,
I was always a big fan of Del Star myself, what a freaken shame!! Well let me just point out 2 of about 1,000 or more stupid things that are going on here! #1 How many millions of these new light bulbs that the Gov is forcing on us have Mercury in them?? ALL OF THEM!!! Just what do you think the Land Fills will look like in 10 years?? Anyone see a major EPA clean up in our future?
#2 why don't they take all of our waste oil and start pumping it back into the old dry oil wells in Texas an PA?? Lets just start those old pumps up an start pumping the used oil back into the ground an in 20 years we'll have enough oil for the next 100 years, It's below our water table Is It not??
BULLHUSK
Waste oil is for killing all my poison ivy and summac, too valuable to recycle. The floresent bulbs,we have to hand deliever them to the dump...oops recycling center, than a employee comes out in a hazmat suit to retieve them from the counter. Always want to accidently drop one to see the panic.
Well I hear Rowdyrebel got a stash,I'll trade him ammo for some of the old ones, 5 rounds for one 60 watter.
Here are two more...almost funny if it wasn't so pathetic. My son builds and flies Estees rockets with his Boy Scout Troop (hes assistant scout master),.The store that supplies the Rocket Engines and ignitors says that after 33 years of being classed as flamible solids the are now classes as explosives and will need to be ATF regulated. They are the size of a 1/3 pack of pennies.
The other son flies Big RC aircraft and after the "terrorist " attempted to hit DC with one , Shuemer now want federal licencing with the FAA and Homeland Security and limits on who can have them, when and where you can fly them and Federal registration of the plane and "pilot". Thats nuts

Why don't he start with own office and congress? And by the way find a new job czar Jeff Emeltdown from GE ain't cuttin IT!!!
Sure he is GE is closing their Jet Engine plant is North Carolina and opening it up in China. See it works out. Because as 7,000 laid off here and 7,000 hired in China...net jobs lost zero.

I went to the body supply shop I've been dealing with since I was 16 for paint for my 1980 R.It just came back from Weldbilt getting the chassis stretched and prepped for the body. I've grown very fond over the past 20 or so years of PPG Del Star Acrylic Enamal. Three coats @ 60 PSI, come back in the morning and assemble or two tone it. (My trucks are all white with orange roof and fenders) Plus it shines like a diamond in a goats ass. I found that I need to replace most of my PPG reducers and hardener, use their Euro Barrier with the "NEW EURO FRIENDLY" stuff and change from 3 coats @60 to 5 coats @30. PPG changed the formula to conform with Euro Blue Regulations. If I use my stock of older supplies the top coat may or may not harden fully for an extended period.
Thank you EPA, O Wammy and The European Union for making my world a little greener and my face a little redder. Paul

Funny, I never really looked at the grab handle, but did feel better in the seat, I thought the dash made it feel roomier, Thanks for the info. Paul

Got to get one of those!! great!! Paul

Read the story on a few sites, this was the first one I read the comments on. Most all agree with the conclusings I came to this morning. Must have been some good threat(s) in my opinion. May be a Gibson style raid or an Enviromental raid.... You all best vote!!! Paul

Why did the article end up on the subject of gorillas?? paul

Looked at a late DM 8 series and one thing mentioned was it had a "plus III cab". Didn't seem to be any different than my DM except the newer dash board. What is it? or isn't it? Paul

I still want one of those trucks 10 years later! Dark green and all that gold leaf....
Only a year older, we had Ballantine, Schaffer and Schlitz here on L.I.....all from the same warehouse near where we went to trade school..where we learned body work on their trucks. I get a free beer from my wife "Here. Take this and get lost" Paul
-
Well it is the first time anybody would trade for a pontoon. (1) not pontoons (2).
It really don't look too bad for a 56 year old tow truck though. Paul
-
Thought I was the only one that stuff happens too. I chased a E model Ballantine Beer truck for years, I stopped every time I was near there. One day it was gone. The cut the body off for storage and scrapped the cab! Thought no one wanted it. Paul
