  1. Sounds casual.

This should happen shortly after ripping his balls off with nylon monofilament line using a rapid jerk.

Well, the scrap yard I deal with will pick a vehicle up by the engine and shake the car off the engine....the same method would work for the de nutting process. Paul

  2. Glad you made in down and back. Did you need the towel at the restaraunt?

My grandson was with me.......don't think he was ready for neck ed dining. I'm heading back down after New Years to pick up my swap from Mr. Garlits so we'll try than....course being winter I'd best bring a sheep skin for the vinyl .

  3. Mack built the trucks. Mine has an Eaton front end and Mack transfer case

I've seen a few AWD Mack mixers with Mack Transfer cases and Mack style front diffs too, same pumkins as the rears but in a steer banjo. The rubber looks like Military pattern.

Thats a DM? looks like the DMM style set up. Could be wrong though....my kids say I'm always wrong :(

  4. The R and I got to Ocala and home back on L.I. Met Don Garlits and delievered my car to him and ended up struggling homes with a leaking fuel tank. Split weld on the tank seam. Still a good trip. Missed meeting up with Slpwlker by 2 hours.... Paul

  5. Ron Gasser is the owner, He was originally 2 towns over from me on L.I. in Laural on Love Lane. The town forced him out. I worked with him when he got the Panzer IV from Isreal. It was in their armor museum in Laturen and was one of many WWII German tanks captured by them from the Syrians in the 1967 War. We visit him once a year and also go to the Army Ground Transportation museum in Va near by. Used to do the Armor show in Aberdeen and the one in the Patton museum also ,but they both stopped after 9/11.

The builder of the M-26 in Pacific Car and Foundry not Pacific trucks. Paul.

  6. Rob , thats funny.

Paul , its sad that the ones in Europe will probably never be restored and will fade away due ot the high cost. Im glad you saw the Ebay one, it wasnt an uparmoured one if I remember right.

The yard in France has 16 of them! Plus a 1943 Autocar tractor trailer and 6 or 7 GMC 2 1/2 tonners The on on Ebay was unarmored. He's a military vehicle restorer/broker, he mainly sells ex military wreckers and trailers. Ah it's good to have a dream,

Things happen though, A former Long Islander bought a WWII Sherman dozer tank for $10.70 in 1975 or 76. It was at the former Pilgrim State Mental Hospital here. Pushed coal around til it broke in the late 60's and the hospital dug a hole and pushed it in. It now live at the American Armor Museum in Virginia. AAAH maybe when I become president I'll get one.......... Paul

  7. There was one in the US on ebay last week with the trailer.

Un armored $45,000.00 opening bid and reserve of $165,000.00 . It's worth it, but need rubber, which will run $900.00 each times 18, and 18 tubes and liners. All done you got a $200,000.00 plus investment.

Just one of those things I've been stuck on with since I was a kid and Jacobsons ship yard in Oyster Bay L.I. had one I played on in the mid 50's. Paul

  8. Drive carefully, theres a lot of nuts out there. AND most are heading to FLA.

Snowbirds, as long as they bring money

Timing it to miss most of the mess on the DC loop and stop in Fork Union,Va for dinner and some jawing with family and see how the R fairs on it's first otr trip. Paul

  9. Yeah, he seems to be okay. Chopped..sounds cool, it will still look like a Mack. Late model drive train..long as it's volvo. Me I'd plop the cab on a late Mack chassis and power pack and invest the time and coin in the body, paint and chrome. :) At least it's not scrapped and its good that he has an interest it. Who knows maybe the next will be a stocker. Good luck . Paul

  10. After exhausting all the local suppliers and a few no so local ones , I come to the master for advise. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I need 16 AWG Female high temp flag connectors. They need to be the steel 900 degree sustained heat connectors not trhe copper alloy 650 degree ones. Figured it would be relatively easy to find since they are used in lighting, ovens and other high temp applications. But noooooo! Any ideas?

  11. I got asked what a Pacific M-26a is. This is one of my dream rigs, unfortunatly they are all made of "unobtainium" Chain drives, 1049 C.I. Hall Scott, crew of 5. WWII heavy tank recovery/ transporter Made by Pacific Car and Foundry. Paul

  12. I don't know where they draw the line, but I spoke to Rose a few months ago with a request, and I was told they don't handle "newer trucks", only old ones. Not sure exactly what the consider "newer".

Don't know their cut off, but Mr schumaker sent me all the info on my 1980 R including a bonus of a dealer brouchure. Great to deal with, I always send a donation for their help too. Paul

  13. I don't see how a parent taking care of a disabled adult chid on Medicaid is apart of the SEIU. If I missed something in the article how the SEIU and the parents had any type of union contract, please pointed it out.I never realized that the SEIU created and controlled those programs. Under those rules I owe the SEIU or CSEA a ton of money for taking care of my parent in their last years. Paul

  14. Paul,i'm not so sure MENTAL disabilities count regarding peterbilt owner/drivership!.................................Mark

I don't know............I looked at one once and my wife asked me if I was nuts for even thinking about one.............
