  1. First check your fuses and you may have an AC relay, check that also. If all there is good, than got to the next step.

With the key on, engine off, turn on the Ac and put the blower on, use a test light or meter at the wires at the Compressor clutch to see if there is power there. If the is, the magnetic clutch should be engaged. You can have somebody turn the AC on and off and see or hear the clutch engage, and you should not be able to turn it. If it is not engaged and you have power then most likely the clutch is bad. If you do not have power, then follow the AC lines back to the low pressure cut out switch, check for power in and power out ,while the truck is running with the ac and blower on. If you have power in and none out, jump the switch, if the compressor engages it it a bad Low Pressure switch. If no power there then I would head to the AC/Heater controls in the dash for a bad switch or wire connector. There may be a few other items I missed, but these are the basic checks for most every system. Paul

  2. Paul, I agree with you 100%. Problem is both parties have screwed up but the can has been kicked down the road too long. It's time to fix it and blaming everyone else isn't getting anything done. Most of the programs started with good intentions but they are no longer sustainable and no one wants to give up their benefits. Trey

That the entire problem as my little brain sees it. 1) Nobody takes any responsibility for any of it,,,no one, 2)nobody listens to the people in the pits and 3) too many "I owe this person or group for my election" or I want things this way . Stop putting blame on the guy behind you or putting it into the future for somebody else to deal with, be the person who runs the show, be strong, be a leader of the people NOT a stooge for some corporation, foreign country or environmental group because of the $$$. Just be an American. Paul

  3. Back to the begining of this thread. The problem I had / have with the presidents job speech is the same problem I had with Bill Clinton putting more law enforcement and firemen on the streets and Bush added security / law enforcement after 9/11. When the funding to create the jobs and salaries runs out, our taxes go up to pay for them....on top of the taxes added to pay for the creation of the programs or else the programs end and the jobs vanish from lack of funding.

The other problem at least here in N.Y. is we have teachers who because of "difficulties" are not allowed to teach. They are paid their salaries not to have contact with children. A neighbor was a postal worker in a mail processing facility who is retired on 100% disability because he is "allergic" to paper dust. My cousin a retired town worker (CSEA) who retired on 3/4 pay as disabled because he's an incurable alcoholic. When does it end? I agree, that if you do well at your job you deserve to be compensated well. How than, can any organization get it's members rewarded for screwing up? Nuff said.

Now I'm going back to welding up my chassis cracks on my AC. Paul

  4. I have one more question. The NLRB is going head to head with Boeing for the S.Carolina factory. Now G.E. is opening a factory in China to to the preliminary manufacture of their jet engines and to help China's attempt to dominate the world air liner industry. The technology also has military uses. This agreement will move jobs from G.E.'s North Carolina plant oerseas. Aren't the Foundry and machinist jobs being taken from our people? Why isn't the NLRB going after them? Paul

  5. Hey Bob, You start in your own area and it will spread, Vote and change Washington.Be vocal on any thing thats hurts OUR country. If the points made are not taken than we advance to other options.

  6. Well said. Until we can stop the lobbiests, major companies and overseas influences from making decissions for our policians by buying them with "donations", things will not change. Many of our "trade partners" also have severe import duties on any foreign goods that duplicate what is made in country....incentive to buy home country products. We should do that. We have at this time an government that invests in companies and jobs overseas while stopping companies from doing the same thing here. We do have the skilled workers, we do have the incentive, we just need less government interference to do what we need to do. Paul

  7. I did my 2 years, spend 120 plus days in the hospital and the rest of my life feeling it, but I got more positives out of it than not. Required service does not have to mean a combat unit, We have more than enough projects that we could train people to do and maybe give them a direction or a career for life. And yes the pay should be better. We don't offer real life training in schools and not everyone can afford career training or want to be white color..

The politician(s) who sends our troops in to harms way should in my opinion have first hand knowledge of it. Even if they do basic and go to the reserves. Maybe they would think twice before committing us to that type of situation or not giving them the equipment or help needed.

I've been union for 30 plus years and at least in N.Y. the attitude has not changed for the better. We have 2nd and 3 generation members who expect top pay and little work. On of 282's locals (from Quadrozzi's) struck the N.Y.Trade Center rebuild for more money to drive into Manhattan to unload at the site. Some or most problems stems from the reps and upper managment being out of touch with us, IMO Paul

They need to earn the right to the freedoms they enjoy.

    Rob

Make it a requirment for all our elected officials too! Paul

  10. A nice Chrysler 361 or 413 would have been a better gas motor for a truck that size, but then again I'm a Mopar or Nocar kinda Guy!! LOL

    BULLHUSK

Mack made them with the 413 in the R-400 series, I think Doug Manney has one. Odd looking installation though. Paul
