  1. Also stuck turbo or failed egr cooler can cause issues. The fact that you have two identical trucks doing the same thing makes me think software. If you list the year and maybe the last 6 someone like Mackpro might be able to guide you a little closer to a solution.
  2. Have you also checked things like boost leaks, exhaust leaks between the engine and filters, and 7th injector being clean? If the filter is not cracked do you think it’s a matter of the truck producing too much soot?
  3. I cant even imagine the smell of that. If you can get gear oil smoking your doing something…

  5. There 100% at fault. I believe the bevel gear compartment is splashed lubed along with the power divider. Those fill plugs are for initial fill like after a repair. After that you maintain level at the missing plug on the axle housing. If there was no oil in the rear then there wouldn’t be any oil in those other areas.

  9. Once the secondary gets down below 90 I think they will drop(I think). It’s not uncommon for the cab tilt back after a day or a few days of sitting. As said above by hayseed you just have an air leak(s) and you’re gonna have air leaks……So don’t be alarmed if the cabs down.

  11. Also id be a little skeptical that the oil has a red tint. That’s about 42 quarts of oil it needs to overcome and you said the power steering fluid hasn’t even gone down. Best thing I could suggest is an oil analysis…

  18. It’s not being brainwashed into thinking the new tech is the answer….it’s the fact that it’s here and it’s what we got and there’s nothing we can do about it. Do i wish we could go back 20 years+ yea. Honestly these new engines would be soo much better if it wasn’t for the emissions. That’s what kills them and causes all the problems. All they do is create heat and that is the number one killer of diesel engines.
  19. Lots of room, give it a few more years and there will be one. Have any of you guys heard what one of these MP8 s sound like deleted? I hadn’t and looked some up today and I was actually amazed at how good they sound. There isn’t many vids out there….
  20. If it did work I think you would have a lot of issues with the Mack file being it’s set up to run with all the emissions equipment and to its peak performance.

  22. Only thing different is the paint and the software programming is pry a little different depending on the truck. Id be curious to how those MP10s and the ones that were compound turbo ran….Even the MP7 was a rocket. That 13 liter MP8 at 505 hp and 1,860 ft/lbs is right up there with those 15 and 16 liter engines. Pretty damn good I think
