  1. I recently pulled liners from an ENDT E-6. I didnt have a hydraulic puller... I welded a spiral of weld on the inside of the liner, then used my Kent Moore liner puller. it was still a chore and I had to sharpen the dogs on my puller a few times to get a good bite. Then i had a machine shop press the liners in the block for me. My enigine was out of the truck, and I was re-building it.. for you to do 1 liner in chassis may be a lot of work, depending on tooling. Dry icing the new liner to get it in is a method you can use.. I never got real good at it. I also rebuilt an E-7, 2 years ago that was putting pressure in the cooling system. when I pulled the heads, #6 liner was chipped, just like you described your's is.. so far all is good... I hope I helped you with the approach to this repair... jojo
  2. I doubt it... did you look for a battery dissconnect switch? usually at the batt box area. they intentionally have the outside cab lights burn when batt's are switched on.. jojo
  3. Just recapping what I posted... The 2 clearence lights burning after the truck is cut of, is so that someone can see that the batteries are not cut off.. it's a safety item. .. Jojo
  4. That's a sad reallity... they are protected better than law abiding American's..
  5. Yes this thread is called, ' The best of Biden' but really , it need's to be called, "The Worst of the Democrats"... Cuomo gets a pass.... Really??? But 725 people are facing jail time for 1/6/2020??? and 1600 rioting vandal's get arrested after the Floyd case and get let out on a misdemeanor.. There's a ton more, if you just scroll back on this thread to see all of the 'real' comments about our 'King' you will agree... too bad us real American's can't help 'cleans' our community. Bleach aint strong enough....
  6. look for a battery switch on the batt box or near it... trash companies do that so the drivers cut the batts off after thier shift... jojo
  7. Man that is awesome! So good to see the work and that there is a young'n who learned a skill and is working his skill's... It's great, all the way around... Jojo
  8. the Jake on yours is a 690 series, E-7's had a 680 series, the top oil feed SB did help the performance, but it was still a lame E.B. compared to other engine makes. I remember test driving the trucks for weak Jake performance and having to fill out a report on oil pressure and engine speed, blah, blah, blah.... and then we would do a top oil feed conversion.. it was a very care filled job to drill the Jake head 'once' without busting through or missing the oil gallery.. anyway, maybe some one will post the bulliten, basically for entertainment purpose's jojo
  9. I wonder if anyone near him has the jig to drill the Jake head, and heck, the knowledge to do it? I dont have access to search out the service bulliten from 20 years ago... jojo
  10. What is it? We need a few more important details...
  11. I try to find reliable info about the 'shot', but all I hear is "Get the shot!" I dont usually get a flu shot, havent for years.. I dont know why I am so apprehensive about this 'shot'.. I think its the politics surrounding the Kung Flu..
  12. the C.D.C. say's that we are 5.4 times as likely to get Omicron compared to Delta because of how it mutates. and those of us who had the Kung Flu, have a 19 percent chance of natural immunity.. I havent gotten the shot/s yet.. I dont know what to do...
  13. the E-6 is 672 c.i.d. and the E-7 is 728 c.i.d. i think its just under 11 litre's.. Pretty impressive when compared to newer/larger engines. 'Slow and deliberate'
  14. I saw something similar. and the ER is plenty busy enough with non-covid patients. there is so much B.S. out there and so many people just beleive what the politicians say without think about it on thier own.. c'ya, jojo
  15. "Omicron" Here in my area, all the local news is saying how there are record numbers of covid cases right now. They all say that 80 percent of the people are "un-vaccinated"... But none of the reports say anything about those of us who already had the Kung Flu, as it relates to the new 'huge' numbers.. I have yet to hear... that these people already had the Kung Flu. You reckon our King is trying to hide something? and all the kings men and women are on board? ( Im sorry that I was 'gender specific' with my question), jojo
  16. before I forget.. the bridges need to be set to .010" on each end using 2 feeler gauges. the drag needs to be equal for proper valve opening timing as well as keeping a side load off of the bridge pins.. jojo
  17. Do you know if the Armolly reset screw kit p/n 215SB321 was installed? if so, the engine brake lash is .021". and like Glenn said, check the valve adjustment again.. .016" int. .024" exh.. jojo
  18. that would be cool... you reckon youll need a cab jack from a fire truck?? jojo

  20. 10mm grade 10.9 is 50-55lbft.. jojo
  21. I wonder if injection timing and duration of the spray is the reason? I am just asking.... I have driven a bunch of late 70's Mack's and they would work hard and pull at 1100 rpm's. I'm not a super trucker, just remember a few things from 20+ years ago.. I hope to learn something on this thread... jojo
  22. Here are a few listings in my book.. jojo
  23. Yep,,, I still don't know what to think about that... jojo
  24. since the truck is a 2004, that should make it an ASET series.. If so there are 2 thermostats, 180 Degree and a 185 degree....(Farenheit) The temp you posted is normal, maybe a tick low.. , sorry Paul... they stay at 180-185 quite well, when in good repair.. do you have an infrared thermometer? I wear mine out... anyway, keep in touch, jojo
