  1. when you get it apart you can bench test it. look closely at the sliding clutch and clutching teeth on the outer cam drum also.. you dont need to use high air pressure to actuate the shift fork and clutch, it can fly out..
  2. can you rotate the yoke back and forth to dissengage the 'peanuts' in the power divider?
  3. you should be able to leave the power divider drum in place, and pull the shifter section out by itself.. what makes you think it needs inspecting??
  4. The metal plate they are part of comes right out of the rubber bolster.. I have seen that dozens of times..
  5. box rubbers!! Atro makes a decent affordable kit, with the bolts.. You may want to get 12 more washers.. if you like washers on both sides of the bolt.. and put twinkies in the boxes too... jojo
  6. have you looked at the torque arm bushings, and the box rubbers, as well as any wear on the spring tips in the boxes? they should not touch the boxes anywhere.. if the upper pads are worn out badly, you will be able to wiggle them without jacking the truck up.. and of course there is always the trunnion bushings too.. but lets keep it basic..
  7. Here is a tool I made about 10 years or so, ago.. I needed to diagnose tire wear on a truck that was in a minor wreck. I made this tool to measure the distance between the drive axles to see how far off they were.. Its ugly, but it works and I will still use it today if needed.. I basically made 2 sliding pointers with clamp bolts, and slipped them over some wire conduit.. i sharpened the tips of the pointers so they would fit good into the dimples on the axle flanges..
  8. Camel back or Hendrickson HN or Walking beam rear suspension??
  9. Ok,, I have this book. Here is what I think you are asking for.. Text me if you cant read it clearly or for whatever reason. 704-785-1738
  10. Too add to the idea of removing the cam gear on the engine.. When the time comes to put it back on, you have to bake the gear in an oven to around 450-475 degrees, then quickly install it and 'seat-it' on the cam (cam standing up with thrust washer in place).. there will be know way to hold the cam and keep it from pushing into the block and the trust washer will fall and get between the gear and cam, also take the chance of pushing a cam lobe into a lifter roller. Yours is a 2002.. It may have ceramic roller lifters.. The lifter roller WILL crack.....
  11. 3 degrees.. You may be able to find a shim plate for the center bearing mount that will be a 3 degree shim. I will be in my shop in a couple hours. I will look in my drive shaft book for info. Jojo
