  1. I'm guessing the OP has buckets or even a barrel of Hytran sitting around and can't afford enough proper gear oil to fill a Mack transmission.
  2. Trump is losing even in republican states: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/
  3. You'll just have to get another Valkrie, they're an awesome bike and one of the best sidecar tugs ever- the power and low CG of a Gold Wing and then some with less weight. As for Israel's politics, you're correct, they're moving to the right, which happens when a people are threatened and they are.
  4. Here's a story that involves politics and trucking so it's sorta on topic, and only three of us noticed it?
  5. Nice try, but I'm build my arguments on history and science. If somebody complains their truck is down on power, my reply is "How fast will it climb a 3% grade at what weight?".
  6. Y'all probably only watch Faux News so you probably missed this: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/back-trump-comments-perceived-encouraging-violence/story?id=48415766
  7. Just look at Trump- He called violent white supremacist thugs "good people" and just the other day tweeted out a video of one of his supporters yelling "white power".
  8. Found a road test, 13 second quarters and over .9 G cornering put the Continental in some pretty fast company! https://www.motortrend.com/cars/lincoln/mkz/2017/2017-lincoln-mkz-3-0t-awd-first-test-review/
  9. Partly true- At one time the republicans were the abolitionist party, the southern democrats were largely racists, and the northern democrats looked the other way. That started changing about a century ago as Roosevelt partially desegregated New Deal programs and Humphrey challenged the racist "dixiecrats". The roles of the two parties have now completely flipped, with the democrats welcoming all races while many republicans openly allow racism in their party.
  10. Agreed, the V6 Continental will kick the ass of a lot of expensive German cars, but nobody knows about it. Ford is giving away a couple hundred thousand sedan, hatch, and wagon sales a year and those customers won't trade for an SUV or truck.
  11. Again, Ford is telling Ford customers to shop somewhere else.
  12. Just kidding, best regards to the newlyweds!

  14. I hate to see "too big to fail" companies rewarded again, but YRC is so big that it's closing would threaten our transportation network and lay off so many workers that it would threaten the solvency of several states unemployment funds. Probably cheaper to invest in YRC now than to pay more to cover the pension shortfalls later, too.
  15. Unless you've got a good reason otherwise, uses what's recommended. As for using tractor hydraulic fluid in motorcycle transmissions, most share their oil with the engine so hydraulic fluid is a no-no. Harley's are rather fussy about transmission fluid so best to use what's recommended, and a lot of the BMWs use what is basicly an automotive driveline so the usual 80-90 weight hypoid is recommended. However, BMW built some lemon transmissions a couple decades ago, and we found the best way to limp them along until a rebuild could be done was to run 75-140 weight transmission fluid, whose only other common use was Mack rear ends!
  16. Interesting to see how mine was made, it's clearly a quality union made in america tractor!
  17. One of the benefits of the individual heads and cylinders is that you can rebuild an engine one cylinder at a time- That way replacing one bad piston or valve doesn't require a full teardown, and a machine that's needed every day can be rebuilt one cylinder at a time on the night shift.
  18. Here's Pew's latest on the subject, they find blacks are more conservative than white democrats, with Hispanic democrats mostly in between. Conventional wisdom would suggest these blacks and Hispanics would affiliate with the more conservative republican party, but the republican party's racism has driven them to the democrats. Something similar is going on with women, with women seeing the republican party as unfriendly to them, resulting in an over 20% gender gap as white women migrate to the republican party. And yes, I could have lied to you with facts, but instead I presented some real facts that support the original poster's argument. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/02/27/5-facts-about-black-democrats/
  19. Allowing owners to turn in vehicles they can no longer afford, even at a loss, makes a lot more sense than cat and mouse repos, ruined credit ratings, and the anger left behind by the customary adversarial repo battle. This is the smartest thing Ford's done in years! ‘Ford Promise’ Offers Peace of Mind to Potential Car Buyers and Lessees with One Year to Return Vehicle in Event of Job Loss Jun 29, 2020 | DEARBORN, Mich. Ford Promise allows eligible customers who lease or purchase a new or used vehicle through Ford Credit and then lose their job within a year to return the vehicle to Ford; customers will be covered for up to $15,000 of their remaining balance Offers customers peace of mind in the event of a job loss and a simple return process; enrollment period runs through Sept. 30 Ford ad campaign will raise awareness about Ford Promise, focusing on the country’s desire to get moving again Dearborn, Mich., June 29, 2020 – Ford is providing peace of mind to potential customers nervous about buying or leasing a new or used vehicles in an unsettled economy with a program that offers them the option to return the vehicle in case customers lose their jobs within the first year. “We feel like right now, the economy is at the stage of recovery where people want things to be back to normal, they want to buy, but they’re still a little nervous about what the future holds,” says Mark LaNeve, vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service. “We want them to know we understand that, and we’re here to support them in their buying decisions.” Under the new Ford Promise program, customers who lease or purchase a vehicle with Ford Credit financing and then lose their job within a year can return the vehicle. Ford Credit will value the vehicle using the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) average trade-in value, reduce the customer’s outstanding balance by that amount and waive up to an additional $15,000. The customer is responsible for any difference remaining. In addition, the customer is responsible for any late or deferred payments due and vehicle damage. Once the conditions are met, the account is reported as closed and paid. The ad campaign, which launches today, focuses on supporting consumers eager to move forward, says Matt VanDyke, director, U.S. Marketing. “Customers are realizing it might take a while for things to completely feel normal again, if in fact, they ever do.” Research from Cox Automotive indicates that at least 32 percent of potential customers are delaying automotive purchases, citing market uncertainty and fears of unemployment. “They need our support now more than ever,” VanDyke says. “And it’s here, in an offer that applies to both new and used vehicles leased through Ford Credit. It just shows there’s no better place to shop than at a Ford dealer.” The program offers a simple solution to those who experience an involuntary job loss and are unsure how to meet their payments. Enrollment is open through Sept. 30. A few other details: Ford Promise covers 2019, 2020 and 2021 purchased or leased new, used and certified pre-owned vehicles financed through Ford Credit. Vehicles must be for personal use only; commercial use contracts are ineligible. The complimentary protection begins 30 days after vehicle purchase or lease. This initiative is the latest program by Ford that supports customers who may have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. “Ford Credit has a long history of helping customers affected by all types of economic setbacks,” says Marion Harris, CEO, Ford Motor Credit Company. “Now, we want to make sure that everyone who is considering purchasing or leasing a vehicle knows that this assistance is available.” Other programs have included: The Built to Lend a Hand program that allowed eligible new car customers in the U.S. to defer payments for up to three months and Ford to pay for three months – providing up to six months of payment peace of mind. A Ford Credit program that allowed existing U.S. customers affected by COVID-19 to call Ford Credit and discuss options such as payment deferrals if they were having payment difficulty. “Our programs are adapting and evolving as our customers’ wants and needs change,” says LaNeve. “Ford Promise is simple and streamlined – it allows our customers to get into a vehicle without having to worry too much about what the future holds.” For more information, visit Ford Promise. 20. WTF? They could have bought a crew cab Colorado, throw on a topper and a few seats back there, and they'd have gotten better than nothing small arms protection and way better weather protection for way less $$$!
  21. Thank you for highlighting the income inequality we have in the U.S..
  22. Now who am I to believe- A recognized pollster like Pew or you?
  23. Back to the original subject of the thread... Black voters are something of a silent majority in that they're more conservative, especially on social issues, than the rest of the democratic party. That's probably because a lot of blacks would be republicans, but the republican party has so embraced white supremacy in recent years that they've been chased to the democratic party. There are a lot of other groups like high income tech workers, asians, and gays that would have sided with the republican party on economic issues alone that the republicans have driven into voting democratic. This is the ruin of a republican party that Trump will leave behind, a minority party of old white men.
  24. Do I need to explain to you how it's done?
  25. There's been little to no public housing built in the last four decades, and much of what existed has been torn down.
