  1. i think the dynatard on our v8 needs to be adjusted or something if that is possible? i used to drive it everyday and the engine brake worked fine as good as our jake brakes on the older e7 engines. now it just seems like something isnt right with it, also on our e9 the air throttle pedal doesnt work the way it used to work i dont think its getting the right amount of air but we had it checked and they said its fine,
  2. yeah dynatard with the pacbrake it makes a big differance. i wish those hydraulic retarders were available in this country
  3. that was a problem mack had as most mack rears only have the power divider and since the early 90s meritor/rockwell and eaton had full lockers in most vocational applications.
  4. its alot better since they put the lights in
  5. yeah he cut that down into a tractor he must really like the truck to have spent the money to do that . that truck was a long log truck with chalmers suspension and he put air ride in it.
  6. looks like those were rode hard and put away wet. why were they abandoned ?
  7. yes that was me , do you know rusty he is a good friend
  8. the 98 CL we just sold had a 454 with a jake and a stealth exhaust brake, your right the jake part of it wasnt to great but in combination withe stealth it worked pretty good, better than our other e7 powered trucks that had just jake brakes, the stealth broke when the truck was about 10 yrs old and we tried to run it with just a jake and it sucked so we bought a pacbrake exhaust brake for it and it worked great. we have since put pacbrake exhaust brakes on our E9 and E7427.
  9. yeah i love the colors too. mack says the paint color is black metallic but it looks like a charcoal gray to us up close. itll be interesting to see how this one pulls compared to the other titan. this one is a 515hp 1960 torque and the the other titan is the 555 hp 2060 torque
  10. yeah watsin chalin 20k lb steerable, no prentice its a serco 7500 the loaders a 2010 came off the 98 CL we sold thanks it is a awesome truck i hope we have as good of luck as we have had with the 2013 titan
  11. yeah i see alot of new macks especially pinnacle axle forwards around here. i was at a paper mill last week and seen 2 new chu being delivered to the paper mill . they hadnt bought macks in 20 yrs before these 2
  12. do you ever sleep at night or do you just eat sleep and drink volvos ownership of mack ?
  13. sorry for the grainy photo my cell phone has a scratched lense. heres our 2014 mack titan. i know its a low rent truck that noone would like to drive but heres the picture
  14. ive seen some trucks advertised at milton cat with the 550 c15 .
  15. jake brake is by far better. mack eas always at a disadvantage with there engine breaking due to the small 673 and then 728 cubic inch engines. cummins were 855 and cat was 900 or so cubic inch. them bigger pistons slow the emgine down alot better. i know most people on this site dont like the mack/volvo engines but the mp engines have great engine breaks. just as good as any other make. id like to know how a e7 jake brake would compare to a cat c12 or cummins m11 jake brake ?
  16. it sucks the insurance never pays what you have have the truck insured for. 10 yrs ago a old lady crossed the centerline and hit my brother head on and blew his tire and broke the steering and sent him off the road and over a bank into a beaver pond. the car stayed in the road and my dad then hit the car and sent him over the bank . needeless to say the buick totaled a CL713 and CH613 . WE NEVER RECOVERED THE FULL AMOUNT LOST. the insurance company said the 98 CL was worth more than a 2000 ch so we took a bath on the ch.
  17. international shelved the 15 liter maxxforce 15 for the cummins isx so i assume cat will also put the isx 15 in there trucks since there built on the same line as international .
  18. ive heard of other companys in maine and quebec that have titans and like them. those cat trucks they have are c15 cats with international fuel systems and super egr rated at 550 hp and 1850 torque i doubt they have the power of a 605 titan. also cat / international discontinued the c15 program so i heard cat trucks will be powered by cummins isx 15 engines painted cat yellow .
  19. i see them in brattleboro vt alot brown mack visions and pinnacle axle back never seen them with a shaker though
  20. i just found a 2010 western star 4900sa heavy duty tractor with a 560 detroit 18 spd fuller 20k front 65k rears with 28k miles for a list price of 84,900 dollars . i would call this truck a comparable truck to a titan probably sold new for 150 to 160k , if you want to check it out its at caledonia diesel in new york state. i agree those cat trucks are junk
  21. all i have to say is we have had our first titan for almost a year and its been a great truck . performs great has been reliable and has great power and engine break. i wouldnt give 50k for pelletiers truck the way they destroy equipment. i remember seeing them put a hole in the oil pan of it on the first trip on there cancelled tv show. then i think they rolled it over so its probably pretty rough
  22. we just took delivery on our second titan. my condolences to pelletier on purchasing a cat truck .
  23. i had that happen to my 2000 460xt. it was a bad eup and some how it ruined the cam too
  24. sweet ride. i love the chu rawhides. good luck with it
  25. well i invite you any time to come up to vermont and drive a titan we have 2 of them. i think itll change your mind. the power and engine brake combo is far beyond any mack ive ever driven. yes a turned up E9 can produce tons of power but the engine brake on an mp10 is the game changer in mountainous terrain
