  1. That paint will help trap any of that stubborn rusty stuff that may try coming off after it's together. It's a good idea. If it's stuck for the most part it'll help unwanted particles from going in the oil.
  2. Awwwwwwe look at that. Looks like an old Norman Rockwell painting. Could be titled " A Threat To Our Democracy " ( pretty much applies to just about anything, kinda like a white toilet )
  3. Some guys don't think much of the FRO models. Still a transmission and has regular transmission issues any are prone to. The range valve is under the top cover on these and sometimes if air was contaminated with water (or oil) they tend not to range shift or leak air. There's not much on one that will interchange with other (older) Fuller models. If you do get involved with it, don't be confused by the shifter. Any Fuller shifter will bolt on, but the end of the lever just goes into the little circular indentation you'll see in the opening on the top cover. It doesn't go into the familiar notched rails the forks are on, you won't even see that in the shifter hole. They have a first gear somewhere around 12.5/1 (and reverse) and are even jumps throughout . Overdrive is a .74 . I'm think'n the sliding clutches are finer which is supposed to make them easier to shift ??? Also. I think the PTO gear is the same as any Fuller. Fuller's one size fits all on the path to automation.
  4. Back before Dynamat and products like that, wood was a good way to help eliminate noise.
  5. Sounds like may be an FRO. It will have the word (METRIC) cast into it if it is, If it is one, they start out around 12 to one and have a fast overgear (.74 I think)
  6. That wouldn't surprise me either.
  7. Wouldn't surprise me one bit
  8. This isn't funny. For some reason I saw this and had a vision of her and Killary running in 2024. YOU laughed about the clown this thread is dedicated to too.....remember that.
  9. For what it's worth, most trucks that have been around a while don't just need the bar ( shaft, spindle.. what ever you want to call it ) if you're going to remove it anyway, with the frame suspended cut through the bar in the center. Unless it stays perfectly in place after a slice through the middle, the trunnion stand is shot. ( like Joey mentioned ) probably easiest to put one of those erector sets in a packer than wrestling with the body. Of course this requires lots of cutting to get the old one out too. 🤷🏻‍♂️ No easy way out on this one.
  10. I went to Hunter Peterbilt. They hooked the truck to a laptop. Maybe that's what they're talking about ???
  11. It's in one of those after the end. You know how more are there if you click on it. It was really uneventful compared to the outside view. Not what you'd expect.
  12. Yes, pretty sad when a clown such as myself being facetious is close to what people believe is the best thing to do.
  13. Maybe even have lebron comment on it, and some excerpts of btriney griner. And WTF...throw in some thoughts from aoc. These are the people who represent our democracy and know what needs to be done
  14. There's one where a guy goes for a ride along and videos it. That footage from inside the truck doesn't look anywhere near as abusive as from the outside.
  15. It used to be funny, now ???? we really are living it in way too many ways to be comfortable with.
  16. Personally, a Small Cam 350 with two straight 5" sounded awesome. Even with mufflers, they had a very distinctive combustion clatter. And YES at one point they were considered a "big" HP engine.....cause then, they were.
  17. A while back, truck pulls were all the rage around here for a short time. Guy was going on and on telling me all about how far each guy went and what broke n all. I told him my one tractor drug 25 tons of coal all the way to Lake George, and then it drug another 25 tons of stone back here. His response ??? "you're an a$$ hole" 😂 I guess different guys use trucks for different reasons.
  18. Superliner with a Cat wasn't too uncommon. My bet is that FL had a Small Cam 350 (just my guess)
  19. I've often thought we're living that movie......electrolites and all
  20. I've seen a fairly new W900L painted like a Montfort truck. ( maybe there's several ??? ) It made me think " how many people know what that is painted like that trying to look like " it did look pretty good too. Guess that's what you call timeless good looks .
  21. I watch and wonder myself. I get some guys have them just for that, but some look as though they're working trucks. Hard to believe components can take it.
  22. Animals ????? I thought this was advise for some women I've met over the years
  23. I agree. Honestly though, the transmission mount part ......I'm ok with that. Eaton isn't too far behind with manual transmissions either. 8LL, FRO 10s, 13 and 18 final four.
  24. If it's a 505, the bell housing isn't the issue like it was with grey engines. If you don't have a PTO, it's a relatively easy swap. At this point, you almost have to wonder about availability of Mack transmission parts by the time the next repair rolls around. (yes I realize that's a sad perspective on things) Let's face it though, Volvo has no interest in manual Mack transmissions.
  25. Paul Paul Paul...... Swishy was famous long before this.
