  1. Just felt the KABOOM, part of the leve has been blown. Felt like a earthquake. Didnt think we would hear or feel it as we are so far away.
  2. Yes, We have customers complaining that $20,000 is to much for a used CH613 because they are broke, but yet they pull up in a 2012 $45,000 Ford Superduty all chromed out! WTF
  3. You have the best looking truck Mack ever made, now if it will just run like the best Mack ever made!

    Help

The only problem we have had with the SCR/DEF system is a broken suction pipe on top of the DEF tank and that was broken at the factory. They have been very trouble free so far.
  5. Last year we sold 40+ used CX/CXN/CH/CHN trucks all with Fuller Ultra-shifts and Auto-shifts, if we could find more at a good price we would buy them for resale as most all of our customers love them. On the Auto-shift (with clutch pedal) pros: uses regular clutch and no driver induced syncro problems. Cons: must keep clutch and clutch brake adjusted, XY shifter motors sometimes go out. On the Ultra-shift (no clutch pedal) Pros: a better bug free version of the Auto-shift. Cons: uses a special clutch$$$$$$. As many as we have running around here running we might get 1 every 45 days to work on, then usually just a power wire connection problem, sensor or clutch adjustment is all it takes. Most all these trucks are farm trucks that do go off-road. However for true off-road Allison is the only way to go if you want a auto trans.
  6. Since IH is out of emissions credits and will have to go to some kind of SCR before to long, it looks like they might come out on top by owning this new SCR technology. Since they own the PurePower Tech company they could keep it to themselves. No liquid DEF to fuel up with and try to find, just a small brick of solid SCR to dump in the exhasust system (some way?). A spin-on filter style that dissolved into the exhaust from exhaust heat would be neat.
  7. Wish I could comment on the story behind this deal. Funny why the owners wanted to sell?
  8. Talked to a dealer who sell Mack, Volvo and Kenworth. They spec the KW's they sell with Cummins. We asked if the 2010/2011/2012 Cummins they sell had less problems that the MP/D engines and they said no, about equal amount of problems but the MP/D engines were blowing the Cummins away on fuel mileage. They said if we can get the last few bugs worked out of the MP/D engines they will be the best out there.
  9. Wish Mack would put wing nuts on their MP-8 valve covers, it would make my life easier!

I have had this valve cover of of this same new mp-8 over 8 times in 3 months!

  10. Took these pics today of a CX613 last 6 of vin 015200. It has the sleeper side faring/extenders plus the rubber extenders added to that. Is this what you are needing?
  11. I did have a baffle come loose and block off flow on an ASET, ran like crap. It had the stand up muffler though. Yours has that frame mount laydown style. Something better could be rigged!
  12. Yes, on the phone right now with the bank, buying a 40' camper on the lake. Things are getting better! Down to only one MP-8 problemchild.
  13. just saw your post I'll give you a call here in a minute, dog chewed my laptop power cord so no internet at home. I hope it shocked the little SOB!
  14. Bigen saw how easy (but dirty) it is to blow out a EGR cooler on a ASET engine. Mack recommends to remove the cooler and fill it up with mineral sprits overnight and then steam clean it out. But I have had good luck with blowing them out with a long tipped blowgun. Park the truck out side and remove the "Hot pipe" coming from the EGR valve going to the EGR cooler. Them pull back the EGr cooler to Mass flow hose and blow back and forth with the blowgun. I angle the tip down as to blow down through the cores (its built like a radiator)
  15. We have ordered 25 trucks for stock, thats the most our store have ever ordered for stock in the 22 years i'v been here. Sure hope were not setting on them for years.
  16. Best year and motor you can have. Only weak link is the injection pump, The P8500 series doesn't last as long as the P7100 series on the early VMACI engines. But still one of the most troublefree years.
  17. Early Etech (1998 to around 2001) 427-460's are exactly the same only the download in the engine ECM is different so be sure to use your orignal engine ECM. Starting around 2002 with the CCRS ETECH engine, the 460 used a wastegate turbo and different injectors on there 460 HP as compared to the 427 HP.
  18. Heres some other stuff you might look at. I cant find the service bulletin on the one piece surge/overflow tank. Rasler could post it if he can find it, I tried to find it but looking through 600+ service bulletins makes me crosseyed! SA232007.pdf sb214056.pdf
  19. The AC engine comes in the CX/CH style trucks while the AI/AMI comes in the CV/CT/MR/LE style trucks. Make sure you have a 16 psi radiator cap on there too.
  20. If its the Behr electric viscus fan clutch, it never really fully disengages like the air fan clucthes, At the shop we can easly hook up the laptop and see whats causing the fan to stay engaged (A/C high pressure). If every thing is right the only thing that turns on the fan clutch is high coolant temp, high intake temp and high AC pressure. I would first make sure the ing key is off and unplug all 3 engine ECM connectors and see if the pins are corroded from antifreeze seeping into the harness from the low coolant sensor (seen this many times).
  21. If you had an MP8 with conical injectors and cups, no EGR system and no SCR/DPF, you have an almost perfect engine! We would never have to work on them and they would sell faster than we could build them!
  22. Thanks for posting it. I like pictures instead of trying to type what it looks like.
  23. Notice no DPF or SCR on that Military GU, cant be broke down or doing a parked regen in a warzone!
  24. That flush that was done might have broke loose some scale in the block and now its clogged the oil cooler inlet screen and now overheated the EGR cooler and cracked it causing coolant push. I would first pull out that oil cooler inlet screen in the "Y" pipe that connects the lower radiator piping the the oil cooler. Rasler probably has that Mack service bulletin and can post it as I dont have it on this computer. Hopefully it didnt crack the EGR cooler. Its easy to change a EGR cooler but $$$$$
