  1. The engine model would help but if you ask Ron Smith, I betcha the lint in my pocket he will rattle it off from his memory.
  2. That thing has been on and off fleabay and various facebook groups for several years. Apparently the owner just doesn't get the fact that he is asking way too much money for it. It's a shame, I would have tried for it as there were only four firetrucks built with that cab- which was originally designed for Ma Bell as a phone pole auger chassis for long distance, off-road installations. It's a three-door. Yes power is more than likely a 6KS Waukesha.
  3. My onset of the bat lung aids was Friday December 11. Thats when they started the clock for my 90-day period. I just got my first shot on April 3, I get the second on April 24. My Doctor highly recommended that I get it. The wife just got her second shot this past saturday (She is a NICU nurse and has no choice) and she got sick pretty much all of Saturday. She woke up Sunday feeling like she had a hangover- took a good hot shower and she felt better.
  4. It may or may not also be Other Dog's Bday too but I can neither confirm or deny that allegation.
  5. B & S didn't help themselves by outsourcing a lot of production to foreign lands which produced a lot of low quality junk over the years.
  6. FDNY does not have "stations." They are Firehouses, because they are second homes to the members that are assigned there. "Station" is too utilitarian of a word and it's use is discouraged in the FDNY. The Superpumper and Supertender were housed in two locations: First was at Engine Company 211 and Ladder Company 119 at 26 Hooper Street in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The second location was at Engine Company 207 and Ladder Company 110 at 172 Tillary Street in Bridge Plaza, Brooklyn. Both locations were chosen for their (large) size as well as easy access to major roadways and bridges leading to the rest of the City. The satellites moved among many firehouses over the years. Too numerous to mention.
  7. I only met Ed one time when he and his son Buddy came to Macungie 5 or 6 years ago. I talked Ed into flying into ABE Airport instead of Philly and got him around locally. He was a cool guy and we talked firefighting often on facebook.- he was a volunteer himself a while back. I have been posting progress reports of my son's welding program at votech school and Ed had taken an interest in watching Cody's progress and was always wishing him well. I will try to keep my eye out for his obituary and will post it if I find it.
  8. It's weird how things happen. I was cleaning up after dinner, and I had the Queen album "Some kind of magic" playing and the song "Who wants to live forever" was on, and my phone dinged with a text message. It was Ed Ackell's son on Ed's phone telling me that Ed passed away peacefully in the presence of his family a few hours ago. Rest in peace Edward. Keep the coffee warm and a seat at God's Truckstop Counter for me. I'll be along sometime. Cancer sucks. That's all I have to say about that.
  9. SWMBO had issues with her mood* and short-term memory for about 2-3 weeks after recovering from the initial symptoms. She also had shortness of breath after mild activity (carry a load of laundry up the stairs she would get winded and have to sit down) for about 4-6 week. *even more so that normal but shhhhhhh dont tell her I said that
  10. Unfortunately I have to answer all incoming calls as I use my phone for work (boss pays the bill, can't complain......) If I get an out of area number I do let it go to voicemail but.....they "spoof" local numbers and these I have to answer. So if it is a scammer I screw with them as much as I can. I have an Indian friend who once told me that if you accuse them of having relations with their mother, it is one of the biggest personal insults you can throw at them, and they never say the word "mothe.......er" so if you can get a MF out of them, you know you pissed them off. Some of my friends and I have an honor-system game where we see how long we can keep them on the phone. My longest so far is 16 minutes for one of the car warranty guys. I kept asking him more and more complicated coverage questions, like "is the blinker fluid tank protected from cracking or breaking" or "Are the muffler bearings covered?"
  11. Edward, what is your favorite barbeque/picnic food?
  12. From what I can tell, Ed isn't doing too well. Word from a friend of his has it that he is on a new med that has dulled the pain, and that he is at peace. Maybe take a few minutes and say a prayer for him and his family.
  13. She asked me if I had AmBosch or Robert Bosch injection
  14. Don't know any labs down there but most of the major CAT dealers have their own in-house labs and will analyze any make/model.
  15. CoCo where are you located?
  16. I know you are bored out of your mind, but TAKE IT EASY......especially if you are having inner ear and dizziness issues!!!!
  17. Have you had a recent crankcase oil analysis done? For an average price of $20 it is a priceless tool to use.
  18. Don't forget to only use non-ethanol gasoline if you are able to.
  19. Have enough energy to take a good long hot shower? They always make me feel like a million bucks after being stuck in bed for a few days
  20. Joey Mack I see you are in Salisbury NC......My pop and I know the fire chief Bob Parnell there very well. We both used to work for Jevic and when Jevic had a terminal down there (later moved to Concord) we got to know him well after a few haz mat spills in the yard and on the dock. I had a job offer there about 25 years ago for the Fire Department, but my b tch first wife (who told me she would go anywhere with me for a career fire department job) wouldn't cut the apron strings from her mother. I am still pissed to this day about it but then again that was the beginning of the end of her and I wouldn't have met SWMBO.
  21. Joey Mack hope you pull out of this soon. You may have seen a while back that my wife and I both got it the second week of December. I had fevers, aches/pains/chills and the mud squirts for less than 36 hours and then poof.....all gone like I never had it, I swear I felt FINE. Then four days later I lost all sense of taste and smell. The wife got her ass kicked- she had all the symptoms I had plus a hacky cough and she slept for 18-20 hours a day for the first 8-9 days. She also lost her taste and smell and we both got it back between Xmas and New Years. And if any of the kids had it, they didn't show any symptoms. When we both tested positive the school said "keep em home and switch to virtual (our district was offering both.) This disease is very strange it how differently it can affect people.
