  1. Engine RPM x 60 / (Axle Ratio x Tire Revolutions per Mile x Transmission Ratio) = Top Road Speed (MPH) 2100RPM x 60 = 12600 Rear ratio 8.24 x Tire RPM 498 x trans final drive.78 = 3200.7456 12600 / 3200 = 39.375MPH max 2100 RPM 8.24 rear ratio I took a standard 11r22.5 tire size with 498 Revs per mile (your tire RPM may vary?) think that trans is .78 overdrive? hope this helps
  2. codes in all 6 holes are 6999 no real smoke just a little puff after a quick shift. little more hase in the mountian thin air.. Trent
  3. Minimal You will need the charge cooler, tip turbine set up. That will help the most with hp gain... Possible that timing and pump specs will need to be bumped up.
  4. I'm trying to keep it all stock looking.....it is a company truck and they know im a diesel nut.... I could mount external cleaners but then would have to cut the hood. I was hoping I could just find a larger filter housing and put in a larger filter. Keep it all under hood. I have not ran without the filter but see that the intake tube is 6" I figure it has to be the filter restriction air. Only other thing it could be is a rubber 90 deg bend that routes air into the turbo inlet. It gets a little smaller thru the bend. My egt are fine. Never go above 1100 they hold right at 1000 after a mile into a hard pull. Egt will creep to 1050 if the revs drop past 1550 and if it lugs down to 1300 I might touch 1100 where I either back out of it or shift. I normaly stay in the pull at 1700 and down shift when rpms fall to 1500.
  5. I just park in front of those signs and then go to sleep..
  6. Have the same issue with my rear rear... I have 34k rears so think its more to do with stress in that area... Mine cracked right thru one of the bolt holes near the back drverside. Had to grind it flat to help it seal better...
  7. Have you found a less restrictive filter? If any moisture is in the air and the weather is cool I'm in the red with restriction. Dry weather it's 3/4 to the red....before the mods it never went past 1/4 mark even with an old filter...
  8. Problem is the turbo is pulling in more air than the filter can Handel. I need a bigger filter/housing or some way to let it breath better. I have not had it on a dyno. Stock it's a 550hp 5ek model. I would think it might be near 575hp with the simple mods. But the way it pulls hills now....I find I run down them slower and go up them faster lol....
  9. The mechanical will pull better easy to maintain. Electronic better on fuel. I would take a mechanical all day long.
  10. I bumped up the fuel pressure, added ram air inlet scoop, and had someone put in hot injector codes on my 3406E. Now my air restriction gauge measures to 3/4 restriction even with a new filter. The filter is under hood with the air inlet on the driver side cowl. Cowl has ram air scoop. What are some options to let this thing breath better. Any filter options. For reference I can pull mt eagle on I24 in TN at 55-58 mph with 72,000 lb gross weight. not bad! Lol...
  11. Good to know.. I remember when paulmbo was a big trucking outfit. Seams they down sized big time with the scandle. They seamed like the biggest outfit here in the 80's now it's rare to see them out in full fleet on the road.
  12. Oh and I think its safe to open this thread up to any and all pics of Chicagoland MACK's thanks for keeping this thread going Al. Glad Brian has joined the ranks as well! Trent
  13. HOW DID I MISS THESE....? never have seen these before and I have been in many of their yards. Those are some of the largest Macks left here in Chicago.... if they are still around? those look awsome. might still be more common sight out east as but I have never seen any this big in and around Chicagoland
  14. Yea...the dumbing down of America... Forgetting how to exit your truck that you drive each day....that's like saying I can't go to work because I might forget how to get home.
  15. I count 4 or 5 steps to get in that cab...awesome!
  16. My guess is that the state held onto them, tried to charge for storage for over 2 years of the investagation. Fees added up to more than the truck was worth and auctioned off as salvage.Iirc K konstruction was being looked at for stolen trucks and truck parts. But no charges were brought...I know they lost 50% of thir fleet and got just a few tractors and old frameless dumps back to wich most are for sale at their yard on rt12
  17. yep palatine rd and Arlington hts rd... Know the place...
  18. Long story about the yellow r models...the state police raided that guys yard. Shot and killed his dog. Went looking for stolen trucks. In pounded all his tractor, trailers, and machines. Later no charges were filed or they could not build a case. Some trucks were returned but most found their way to auction sites. The guy was accused of selling drugs and was a known hot head but that did not justified how he lost all his stuff to the state. His yard is a mile down the road from me.
  19. Lots of candidates but no luck so far....
  20. Vinnie will be here in 3-2-1.......
  21. Good info and can't wait to see it.. Always wanted to see a pic of it again...
  22. On my rs700l my ad9 is factory mounted behind the passenger fuel tank. It changes from copper to rubber hose near the front of the fuel tank.
  23. Al glad you brought that up... When I was a kid I went to a dentist near Rt14 and Virginia street? Some where near there I saw that huge Mack belly dump looking thing. I have never seen a pic of one like it before. I did not know if it really was a Mack because the name plate was very different from what I had seen before.... Thanks for keeping this thread alive. Trent
