    Hard At It

Sounds like you've been busy this week, it's been pretty slow at the lumber yard this week. It's rained for the last 3 days, but is pretty today. Monday wll be a pain I'm figuring. Well tme to go grocery shopping ourselves.....Oh yeah thanks for the honor.
  2. To be honest that was my thought. I figured when everyone else goes to lowe's I can move up the line so to speak.
  3. I just got in from mowing my grass. I worked on it for about 4 hours. That's pretty funny James. 4 hours?!! how much yard have you got, about 18 acres? You should get a goat or twelve to help you out. I got about a hair under 2 acres. This is the first time it's been mowed all year. I used my uncles mower with the 25 horse motor and 54 inch cut, and it was touching the headlights in the back yard. I'm really thinking about gettin a goat or 2 to help clear off the rest of the property.
  4. Yeah I really like the job. I was working on another security job, but I think I'll hold onto this one. Yeah that other dog fellow is a pretty cool cat. Me him and his uncle bernie used to hang out at the bars all the time back in the day. Racing cars and so on. We have a S/10 pickup, '95 f-150, '96 chevy 1-ton, '91 chevy 2-ton, '89 chevy box van, and a big tandem axle chevrolet, but you gotta have a class B cdl to run it. I've been refreshening myself on the forklift to. Good thing is lowe's is moving into town in a few months so maybe I can try to get on there, who knows. See ya buddy.....
  5. Well I started a new job this week. After getting layed off at the plastics factory, I got called for an interview tuesday and started wednesday. It's for a lumber yard here in town, making deliveries and helping customers. Only bad part is I have to work till 6:00 in the evening, but it's a job that pays the bills. Mowed the grass today which was way overdue, and gonna try and get my old ford back to runnin' this week. I kinda feel like Johnny Cash, "I get it one piece at a time". We'll time to go grocery shopping. As Other Dog would say "I must be off".....

  7. Yeah those mason jars and coffe cans are hard to find after awhile. I would hate to see the yard at his old house, probably looked like a family of gopher's lived there. I heard he only works just to pass the time....lol
  8. An El Camino is like a mullet to me, business up front...party in the back.

    That's funny stuff!!!!
  10. It's like other dog told me, I've bought decent cars and drove them around for 2 and 300 dollars. I've bought a few for a couple hundred of bucks before, but the price of cars are getting ridiculous I think.
  11. Sad part was a seen about a 2003 Ford Focus one of the 2 door sporty model that had been rearended at the scrap yard. I seen 2 nova ss's, even a 40's chevrolet car. I hate to see ths happen to decent iron, but we can't save them all. Daddyslilgurl your like me I wished I would have grown up in the 60's and 70's. It was just cool..
  12. It's crazy how many good trucks and cars that are getting scrapped. When I hauled a load off the other day there was a 70's model international transtar 2 cab setting there "In suprisingly good shape". I tlk to the man who owns another scrap yard and he said he's seen nice stuff come in like flathead for motors to cars from the 1940's. Crazy how this is ended up.

Just drop him off at the bus station and let me know when he'll be here. I'm sure all the other passengers would take care of 'em. We hae a dog that we feed here to he's been here for about 10 years though.
  14. Nice avatar, I would still like to own that truck, but not able to right now. Prices have went ridiculous for cars anymore. We seen a '57 Bel-air nothing to special just nice wheels, disc brakes, etc. for $57k! I'll just stick with the good ole' 88 Suburban which is "pretty and still works" ... lol..

Maybe you can call it Another Dog, but don't call it what steve martin called his dog on The Jerk. Hopefully they'll be enough rain this year for your garden.
  16. Comng off of there in the lowest gear you got a with a 18spd would be pretty ridiculous, but then another cop would pull you over for going to slow empty.
  17. So how was the show? Any good pic for us?
  18. You can tell that b-models in west virginia, look at all the coal trucks!! Anyways, you would think unloaded trucks could go on "so to speak" down that mountain. Good pics though. Was that youtube video anygood?

    Not Much

Sharg looking truck. What's your plans for it?
  20. Sorry about the car, I was fixing to say "that tree held together pretty good"
  21. Great pictures, When i get back in the routine of making a steady paycheck I'm gonna buy a scanner. I've got a few pics I'd likew to post on here. I dig the old school cummins hat your supporting in the pic of the christmas tree. My mom had a '70 nova 4 door 6 cyl. w/powerglide trans.. It was her graduation present she drove that car till about '98. The motor literally outlasted the car, the guys that got the car after us is runnin' the motor in another car and junked the rest. Just imagine if you still had that car...
  22. Back in the 90's when dad drove the blue kw that's in my avatar, him and another driver was gonna quit because of a smart a$$ dispatcher like that. Terry the company owner begged dad and ridgerunner to stay. They stayed until they had to leave clinton tenn. at 11:00 pm thursday nigh and had to be in florida the next morningfar a 7:00 am appointment. The dispatcher owns the company now and it's went straight to he!!, but what do you expect.
  23. Otherdog, yes I would help you, bollwevil, Paul and anyone else and I'm sorry to hear about your loses. I lost my dad to a tragic accident when I was 16 and time does heal everything, but my heart will always have a empty spot so to speak. I watch my boys day in and out and wish my dad was here to see them, I could just see it in his eyes now. I always tell the boys about their papaw Bobby and how he would have loved them. Amber lost her papaw a month before my dad got killed and she tells them about how her papaw would have just loved them and spoiled them to death. Bob Seger is my cryin' music so to speak, dad loved listin' to Seger and it always reminds me of him. I always wonder what it would be like with him still around, but I always think he's in a better place telling some angels a truck drivin story..lol. You guys will always be my friends and one of these days I'm coming too see all of you guys. Sorry to go on, but it's nice to let it out at times. Oh yeah more pictures are good!!
  24. The weather's a little nicer now James, are you getting ready to mount that dump body? Have a good one
  25. That is a sharp truck. You need some side mount tool boxes for behind the fuel tanks, polished of course. Just my opinion though. First time I seen those trucks was at the Mid-America show in ky. and always thought they was nice OTR tractors. Good luck
