  1. No clue who's owner. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/cto/d/1948-lj-mack-truck/6366250851.html
  2. Why do they shove the touch screen heater controls down our throats? They are miserable in our grand Cherokee
  3. Perfect advise. Pull stainless shields off and wash everything. Also a great time to run a new fuel return line.
  4. Wow. What a gem! It's definitely worth $20,000. $55,000 is pretty steep unless it's going to a guy that is a meticulous Packard guy.
  5. The O rings used to be ridiculously expensive. Not sure on cost now but I remember 10-12 years ago they were $50 per pump.
  6. What causes a rod bearing to spin? Besides heat? Just curious.
  7. Why does it take so long for truck manufacturers to figure this out?! I'd love 18 inched behind the cab. Enough for a small fridge, gear and a place to hang clothes. I liked the Navistar extended cab.
  8. That just looks fun!
  9. This picture is my 1990 ch, my 2000 cl has power windows. Every gauge is optional, power windows are optional. When I ordered mine I remember that power window on the driver side was a $80 dollar option and a $400 option on the passenger side. You could also order the elite appearance package, where the truck would have the elite emblems on the outside, but the interior would be any way you spec it. A semi isn't like a car where you get this with or that with a certain package. You literally order every option right down to the radio. The colors could either be red, silver or blue. I also had a silver one, that looked like shit in my opinion.
  10. That's the elite interior. Not real rare. This is one of mine. The steering wheel used to be red leather wrapped too
  11. On my old 88 R, I made a bracket out of stainless that bolted to the headliner by the roof vent. The cb bracket then attached right to that. The mic hung from the handle on the roof vent.
  12. Red interior is the best, in my opinion.
  13. I keep forgetting to put this up. No idea who it belongs to, but it's a hunny. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/hvo/d/1985-mack/6342417780.html
  14. Gm had the Atlas series engines for years. A 4, 5 and 6 cylinder with interchangeable parts. The 5 banger had like 250+ hp and the 6 was 300 with lots of torque. Had one in a trailblazer and loved it.
  15. The two classiest trucks ever made.
  16. The first month or two is the worst. My buddy bought a new KW and after his fourth trip in with it, the dealer gave him a notebook and said just write all the issues down and we'll deal with it at the next service. But every brand new truck will have breaking in pains.
  17. Now that you're on the road, how much help did the dynamat do? Can you hear the tadio? Easily talk on phone? How about at highway speeds?
  18. The airlines on the newer cabs just plug into a manifold on the fire wall and then u just plug them in on the inside
  19. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria, what's next?
  20. Go with an 08 or newer cab. More room. The gauge functionality would be the tough thing. Everything else could be swapped over.
  21. Isn't it funny that in the 90's a competitor salesman told me how Mack was a joke because of their integrated drivetrain. It's so much better to be able to order any transmission you want and motor and axles. Now everybody is racing towards it.
  22. The center consoles in all these new trucks are getting so big and bulky, it's like driving an old cabover. My last new truck they had to look hard to find a bench seat with leather.
  23. I had a ecoboost ford. Was supposed to have as much or more torque than my old 8.1.......they must have a different way of rating those ecoboost engines. But to Ford's credit, the ecoboost Pretty much matched the 8.1 fuel mileage when pulling.
  24. Exactly. I couldn't stand her politics but respected her input. But a couple guys got her banned.
  25. I think that anthem is actually a sharp truck in daycab and flat top configuration. It's different, but not way out there.
