  1. What he does is machine out the female manifold and put a sleeve inside to bring it back to size so the rings will seal.
  2. Single air cleaner under the hood for now. Only smokes when I'm on a hard pull. Dale said he used three turbos to make one.
  3. I put a custom built turbo from Dale Francis on my superliner last year. Running 50 lbs. of boost with the fuel turned up. I had to adjust the oil feed a little and the air intake had to be increased to 6 inch. I am very happy with it. His shop number is 440-254-4046.
  4. I got my engine home on Saturday. Took a ride with my pick-up to go get it. Now to figure out which shelf to put it on! Best to put it on the floor!!!!
  5. Not yet. What kind of trailer do you run? flat or van?
  6. You will have to rebuild your trunion, better know as rebushing. If they are moving that much to crack the covers, chances are the shaft may be worn also. I did a couple of mine over the years, not as bad as it sounds. The biggest problem is supporting the whole back of the truck to remove the shaft. There are companies out there that come to your shop to change the shaft if you have it ready which is what I did. I never had to adjust them until it was time to rebuild. You could however adjust them without removing the springs, but that will not help if the bushings are worn out. I know of the spring loaded screw but don"t know what it is for, never used it.
  7. The two stick trans and the air shifted trans use different forks so the forks will have to be changed also.
  8. I need a complete E-9 motor hauled from Fostoria, Ohio to Hazleton, Pa. Can be loaded and unloaded with no problem.
  9. Ram Air III, 4 speed. Had also a 69 Ram Air IV, Auto, but sold it. At that time, could not afford both and the IV needed more work. Neal Cofell owns that car in Bismarck, ND
  10. 1969 GTO Judge, In 1979 bought this car in high school for $200, guy wanted $250 (had a hard time coming up with $200) Drove it for about 3 years before buying a pickup and had pickups ever since. Still have the car and now valued at $30,000.
  11. It is on the top back cover where the air shift cylinders are located. Facing the right side of the truck
  12. I have a spare housing and I measured both using clay with the new rotor, and both where the same, .035. My rotor is made of cast. You can see on the ends of the blades that they are rough cast where as the old one was worn down from hitting the housing.
  13. I pulled the top off my trans to finally find out why it would not always shift into high range, Hit and miss all the time. Put all new rails and pistons with o-rings in, no help. I found the housing to be worn where the high-low shift rail goes through. Does anyone have the housing they want to sell? Mack dealer is having a hard time finding one.
  14. I pulled my water pump off my V-8 and it had more play in it than I think it should. So I ordered a new one but my question is how do you know if the housing is worn? New housings are "not" available and the rotor was hitting the housing as you can see ware marks in the rotor. I am hoping the housing is harder steel than the rotor. The housing shows no ware marks. In the summer the water temp would rise to 220 but the oil temp would climb to 250 so I thought maybe the oil cooler but pulled that apart and it looked fine. So than I thought maybe the water pump was not circulating enough water and with the play I found, I think that is the problem but not sure on the housing.
  15. What year did the forums change? Mine says a member since 04 Jul 2005. Seems to me that I've been around longer than that. There use to be a place in the forums that you could go back to the old forums. Don't really remember my number. Your memory is the second thing to go, they say. I forget what the first thing is. LOL I went back in the Site related Topics and found where we hit 1000 members on Jan. 13, 2007. Wasn't that last week?????
  16. Yes, the pictures of him in his truck were taken June of 2010. When I was talking to him, he said a couple of months before, he had his spleen removed, The doctors told him if they didn't remove it, he would die, if they took it out, he had a 20% chance to live. It was not long after you saw him at Litiz, he decided to get a flu shot and 2 days later, he died. He got sick from the shot and never recovered. His cousin Neal Deblasi drove Bobbys truck in the funeral which was a nice tribute.
  17. Yes it was Bobby's truck. He use to bust me all the time about my big V-8, How's the V-8 running? He loved the V-8's. Sal Merola Jr, from Pardesville bought the truck, so it stayed close to home. I was going to buy the truck, but by the time I got the money together, it was sold. Bobby use to drive for Jude Lonzetta of Hazleton. He still has his V-8, in fact, yesterday I just sold Jude 2 spare V-8 heads from a spare motor I bought off Bobby. His were cracked. My 613LST does not have a aluminum hood but that doesn't mean it wasn't changed at one time or built with one. I just haven't seen many around. Maybe the ones I did see were painted. The b73 and 75 hood would be longer wouldn't they? Yes that was bobby's truck and thanks for the pictures, we all love pictures. I bought alot of parts from Bobby. His truck had 1 NOS fender and I have the other, also 2 NOS inner fenders plus 2 or 3 shelves full of B parts.
  18. A friend of mine passed away last year. He had a B61, that had since been sold, that had a aluminum hood. Does anyone know what trucks had these. I've seen several on B67's but they are shorter. He had it polished and it looked sharp. Maybe someone here has a picture of it from Macungie of 2010. The truck was purple with black fenders. Was a tractor. I looked through all my pictures and just realized that I have no pictures of it.
  19. It is possible they had them lined up but when you put the cases back together, you have to move the gears around a little to get them in place, and sometimes they will turn out of time. I know on the 6 and 12 speeds I've done in the past, it is the third gear that is timed.
  20. The timing marks Must be lined up or you will get a vibration. The only way to retime them is to split the case apart. They can not jump time when the cases are together.
  21. Pogo Moose Incident- Bracebridge, Ont. Canada 1 hr. 45 min. north of Toronto They were laying cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. This one was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with the lines. They noticed excess tension on the lines and went searching for the problem. The moose was still alive when they lowered him to the ground. He was a huge 60-inch and pissed!
