  1. Meanwhile back in Dallas, a local TV station reported that authorities wanted to perform a toxicology test on the shooter. They went on to say that the toxicology tests may not be possible because there were not enough remains to work with. Apparently the police robot with bomb that took him out pretty much disintegrated the guy. Didn't hear this reported on the national news.
  2. Agree, the F4U was/is an awesome machine. The Sea Fury was no slug either. Used extensively in the Korean War. 18 cylinder radial powered, 2 rows of 9 cylinders
  3. I think one needs to consider the possibility that Hellary may win the election. What with vote count fraud, military ballots that didn't arrive in time, electoral college shenanigans etc., it is entirely possible. The "fix" may be in. If so, by the time you realize it, the shelves at gun stores will be empty. No guns, no ammo, sold out. There is no telling what she may do by executive order. And you won't be able to depend on a liberal supreme court to protect your 2nd amendment rights. IMO, now is the time to get what you need. Best to have stuff that can be considered "grandfathered-in."
  4. Famous quote, from John Grisham I believe. I came across this video clip today and I thought y'all might enjoy. Guy was stupid and insufficiently tough...

  5. Right, too far right, whatever. The sucker made a public pledge along with the other candidates to support the eventual nominee. He should have honored that pledge no matter how difficult that might be. Or, he should have publicly backed away from the pledge immediately after the insults if they hurt him that deeply. But not doing so, blaming it on insults and innuendo about his wife and his father? Need thicker skin bro... And by the way, what about his wife Heidi and her employment activities at Goldman Sachs? Maybe a real story there... Anyway, so, now that he walked away from his pledge, why would one believe he'd honor commitments he might make in a future campaign? I am a TX voter and supported his Senate campaign, but never again. Toast!
  6. Sore losers don't play well in Texas. I'd say his career is downhill from here. IMO, he just pissed away his chances for reelection to the Senate no matter what happens in the presidential election.
  7. Cost of doing business in EU I suppose. Where does the revenue come from to pay these fines? From shareholders equity in the companies and increased truck prices for future purchasers. I'm interested to know how the fines monies are distributed after they have been collected.
  8. Same here - absolutely agree.
  9. Yes it is. And the show moves on without them. I'm pretty sure they're not missed at all.
  10. John Kasich, Jeb Bush, and Lindsey Graham are no-shows at the GOP convention in Ohio. These three turkeys each signed the pledge to support the GOP nominee. The primaries didn't go their way and now, to show their disdain for the will of we the people, they just stayed home. Maybe this kind of chickenshit behavior, not honoring your word, is part of the reason they didn't get enough votes in the primary. The voting public is wising up. That's how I see it. What say you?
  11. Utah? Or Arizona near Monument Valley?
  12. I anticipate the testosterone-free response of our State Department: A truck driver in a truck. A truck is where he works, therefore it is workplace violence. Just like Ft. Hood.

  15. And it looks like that 1929 distributor has 8mm silicone plug wires?

  18. I think Necco Wafers could work. Silicon crystals, sugar crystals, what the hell, it's worth a try. Let's use the clove flavored ones. They taste just bad enough to work.
  19. Color me "not shocked." She is just another POS in an administration chock-full of them. Oh yeah, and Comey ain't stupid. He knows what happens to people that cross the Clintons.
  20. I exchanged emails with Dennis Meehan at Old Macks and he confirms the unit he has is indeed the long lost one you are looking for. It is for sale. Contact him directly at 518-622-8164. You are welcome.
  21. Old Macks has a 1955 unit for sale that resembles yours. http://www.oldmacks.com/index. There are quite a few photos on the website and the text says it is from the Midwest. Maybe it is the one you are looking for, you could call and ask.
  22. "Empty can of tomato soup" that's pretty funny. But the flimsy construction of some light-weight cars is a problem in and of itself. Back in the day my piece-of-junk 1958 Austin Healy with a FoMoCo 289 (ran B modified) was constantly falling apart. One time the slicks hooked up suddenly and the jolt ripped the rear friction shocks right out of the frame. Didn't need the shocks but left two big holes in the frame where they were mounted. I finally gave up on keeping the POS together and moved on to Pontiacs.
  23. Nice, but that looks like one tough restoration to bring it back...
  24. Wonder what insurance companies will offer liability insurance for these self-driving vehicles and at what price? If one runs into me I'm going to sue the living crap outta them. http://www.oann.com/u-s-opens-investigation-into-fatal-crash-in-tesla/
  25. And so here we are now, two years since the last post in this string. And so I must say to those who voted for Obama, Dammit man, you owe me an apology!
