This is a pair of 55 gallon aluminum tanks off a 1962 B model. The frame brackets are included, but the straps are gone. There are some straps off a Ford you can have if you want them. They are solid and don't leak, but the passenger side tank has had a patch welded in. These have the genuine "Mack" ID plates on them. $200 firm.

I got it out today and washed the shop dust off of it, tomorrow I'm going to take it out on the road for the first time. My street is too busy the rest of the week for a shake-down cruise. They're building a huge Intel micro chip plant a mile up the street, the dump trucks roll by my house all day long. They even drive dozers and hoes down my street...the car tires whine as they roll over the cleat marks in the blacktop.

I like the mouse poison block on your shop cart! SOP when you have a barn, old truck, old car, anything like that.

I need some help. I cannot figure out how to view my "DMs" either inbound or outbound, what am I missing?
When you click on the 3rd button from the right at the top of the page, you can't see them?

Looks great! Do you have a trailer you're going to pull with it or just bobtail?
I was planning to get a period-correct trailer to pull, but I don't want to spend the time and money on something else (I have the Brockway for that).

I hurried on up there 150 miles to claim the prize and left deflated. I am no expert, but it appeared to have been painted 10-20 yrs ago with red primer over the already rusting cab as an attempt to preserve it. It is a huge project for a deep pocketed true believer, and could it could be done. My old man had about 5 of these exact, I assume they were gas converted to diesel. In our back yard we played on them along with the sleeper Autocars for many years, and then my Mother demanded they be removed. At about 14yo, in 1969, I was told to cut them up, and I did with an elderly worker holding the water hose. The gas engines / blocks lingered on for a while lying about. The A -model, H-model, and the others are a bit better shape. I did not even try to view the LJ engine since there was no way for me. The interior is extremely rusty and beyond anything useful. I think they are a collection of an old time truck man that never could find a way to restore....I exited quickly to hide my tears without conversing....I thought I had found my white whale.
It's really sad when a truck gets that rusty...sometimes it can't be helped but other times they're just neglected when they should be fixed or sold.

Jerry Howard ran a trucking outfit, and Howard Historical Trucking (I think that was all show trucks, not freight haulers) in Enon Ohio. He had a lot of old trucks and a shop to restore them. I went to a truck show there a few years back, sadly Jerry has since passed away. He hauled my H67 back from Longmont Colorado for me.
...My mistake, they were in Fairborn (near Enon).

This guy in Tennessee has an old LJ(?) with a sleeper, that's a rare truck. The ad is a couple of months old so I don't know if it's still available. No price on the trucks.

Alcohol evaporator, moonshine holder, whatever you want to call it! Does the straw go to the driver so he can have a sip? 😉

Wow hell I didn’t know that thing was anywhere near ready to drive. Nice going bud. Thanks for the cool video. Is there a Brockway sitting out there?
Yes, it's a 1970 361. That will be next after I finish up the H67.

Today I got some things buttoned up and backed the truck outside for the first time in 6-1/2 years, still a lot of little things to do but definitely a milestone!

One thing I've heard said on here is to get the truck on a hill (up or down) and see if the idle surges; if it smooths out when on a slope then the problem is in your governor.

I like the 10.00-20s on the drives, and that red paint is shiny! Very nice!
