  1. Indeed!..coulda gotten Mike hurt too. WARNING, Mike, DO NOT exceed 35 mph. until you have fully tested this, and wear a full face helmet with goggles or face shield!
  2. I've been pondering this situation, and came up with an easier way-just remove the windshield, and she can lay them out on the hood. Put some padding around the bottom edge first-and wear your goggles.
  3. you'd probably have to get another cab with an integral sleeper, remove the bunk, relocate the seat, steering column, all the pedals to the back of the sleeper compartment, or she wouldn't fit. Lots of work.
  4. no wonder the price of a tube of silicone has skyrocketed! there's a shortage now because of her! She used up all we had , then had to go to Brazil.
  5. I'd give her a back rub for free - til Jobyna kilt me. Maybe she could put some helium in 'em too, so they'd be floating up and not put any strain on her back.
  6. That's a good question there Mike, I just don't know. Looks like she keeps her high beams on all the time though, eh? They are 38 KKKs by the way. She had to go to Brazil to get them that big, she couldn't get them biggerized in the U.S. anymore. (from 700WLW's website) what was the original topic here anyway?..can't remember...oh well
  7. Guess I should catch up a little. I went to Chesapeake Monday and came back up to Petersburg and loaded another load for Roxana,Il. Delivered there Tuesday evening and loaded in Pittsboro, In. Wednesday morning for Petersburg, Va. Hit snow in Charleston, W.V. coming back, but the turnpike was pretty clear. When I got off on 64 east at Beckley it was a different story. Completely covered. I waited on top of Sandstone mountain for a couple of hours, hoping the snow would stop...and a plow truck would come by. I think there was one truck working the mountain, and it's 5 miles down it, 7%. I got caught in the snow a couple of times there last winter, and why they don't try to keep it clear I do not know. Sandstone is as long, and a lot steeper, than any of the mountain passes I crossed going to Puyallup. I know they might measure snowfall out there in feet instead of inches, but when Sandstone is completely covered, not even 2 tracks clear, it can be pretty intense going down it. I finally eased on down about 15-20 mph. and made it OK. I unloaded in Petersburg Thursday, then reloaded for Roxana again with a 60' load this time. It delivers Tuesday.
  8. here's a good example...
  9. reminds me of the old saying "shoulda got 2 hats...". You know, one to cover it up with But I must say, that is a fine looking cap , one of the nicest i've seen.
  10. There was the "synonimous Bengal fan", a character on Gary Burbank's radio show on 700 WLW- that's probably where it came from. He always called and changed words to be something different, but close enough to what the word really was that you knew what he meant to say...I think. I've confused myself again, I must be off.
  11. looks like they spelled synonimous wrong too. We'd really all like to see a picture of it sitting upon your head. Now all you need is a Peterbilt T-shirt to wear with it.
  12. Well, Rob-is that all you got for your birthday? Didn't even get any socks, or neckties, or underwear? Nothing to wear, not even a picture disc or anything? I think momma should get on her bike and pedal over to Auto Affair and get your mail for you, since you've got typhoid fever. I wasn't going to say anything, but I couldn't stand it anymore-you could look at pictures of beautiful scenery in the great northwest while you're recuperating...might make you feel better.
  13. No, don't pay any attention to her!-ya gotta eat...right Ms. Rider?..no offense...sorry, nunna my binness.
  14. oh no!..apparently it's worse than we thought-that typhoid fever is nothing to be taken lightly- or-on the other hand, are you perhaps feeling better? You sorta-kinda sound like your old self even!
  15. seems to me in was in the "air ride seat wanted" department
  16. Gee Rob, hope you're feeling better...almost makes me feel bad for picking on you just to see your response. I did a lot of "mig" (metal-inert gas) welding on aluminum, but never "tig". I've seen it done before though, and it's really neat. You can almost weld wreynolds wrap with a tig torch.
  17. yeah, helluva cleanup job! looks like a different truck
  18. What I meant to say was- if all else fails, you can crack (loosen, I should say) the line where it goes into the wheel cylinder and bleed it there. However,That will only release the bulk of the air from the cylinder. The bleeder screw is placed at the highest point of the fluid cavity as to facilitate entrapped air rising to that elevation to be removed by "bleeding". As you will remember from elementary physics: A fluid medium, (liquid) cannot be compressed. A gaseous medium, (air in this case) readily compresses to many times it's atmospheric pressure/state. Hydraulic power is based upon the principal that a liquid cannot be compressed. This lack of compression allows the movement of fluid under pressure to perform mechanical work. In this case, ultimately spreading of brake shoes to provide friction against a brake drum.
  19. I never even heard of mapp gas. Rob knows his s-...stuff, I mean
  20. "...I do like tater tots..."- Clint Eastwood on whether or not to eat the governors t-bone steaks and tater tots, in the movie where he's after Kevin Costner, who has the little boy in the casper the ghost costume.
  21. I saw some of these videos on the Diesel Gypsy's site, but there was no sound. This is way better with sound-too bad they didn't have a 318 vs. a 903. Probably would have taken too long for 'em to get up the hill anyway
