  1. Well congratulations for the kids, grandkids, diploma, dogs, mouser, and most of all Momma for 34 years..
  2. yeah, it's Justin Beaver.
  3. don't matter, we're all here- cain't go anywhere anyway.
  4. OK, so after going through the cadillac converters, multiple personalities, Peterbilt withdrawal, and eating boogers- Jimmy might be on to something. I went out and took a look this morning and the coil pack does have a big old crack in it. Good place to start anyway, too bad i'm helpless in the driveway for the time being.

  7. yer welcome.
  8. OK, thank you.
  9. Hi there other dog, Jimmy the mechanic called me back and said it sounds like a coil pack to him. Only problem is, ya gotta get it to an Advance Auto Parts or somewhere they can put tha' 'puter on it to tell which one is bad- if that's what it is. He said the symptoms described it to a "T" though.
  10. they're not arguing- they are focused. that's how they focus.
  11. Anybody know anything about catalytic converters? My Ford Ranger pickup sputtered a couple of times coming up the hill on the way back from Altavista today, then ran ok the rest of the way home. Jo went to start it a while ago and it started but was missing badly and would barely run. I started it and it would run when you gave it some gas but it cut off as soon as you let off it. I took the big hose off the intake and sprayed both sides of the throttle thingamabob with carburetor cleaner and drove it down the road, but it was still missing and running rough. I don't know what else to check, i'm thinking oxygen sensor?..catalytic converter? Can't tell anything anymore without plugging a computer into it. The check engine light is not on like it would be in a Peterbilt- maybe the bulb is burned out, I don't know. Anybody have any suggestions? If not, I guess i'll have to call a rollback to take it to a garage Monday morning. I can't even get to work tomorrow, might have to wait until Monday...should have bought that F-150 from my brother for $2500.
  12. I've never played golf and haven't been fishing in years... the others- well, never mind.
  13. I know what you mean Larry.

  15. hey, we can dream can't we?
  16. Oh...thought you meant she was about to roll off the bed or something and you secured her with the gorilla tape. The title is misleading.
  17. naw, i'm serious this time- g'bye!
  18. I couldn't care less either, nor am I at all offended by the previous post.
  19. Ran into a situation like that on rt. 10 some years ago. Had a load going to Mullens, W.V. and I ran rt. 10 out of Princeton. Blind curves and no way to keep everything on your side of the road. When I got to Mullens they told me where I delivered "nobody goes that way, you should have went to Beckley and came back down rt.16". NOW you tell me!
  20. nice avatar!
  21. Amen brother! (bulldogman)
  22. yeah! but what about anti-Peterbilt posts?..oh, that's right, unfortunately I no longer get to drive a Pete...never mind. I am still a proud Mack owner though!
  23. Again, unfortunately I no longer get to drive a Peterbilt, so as Randy would say "na-na na boo-boo!"..or something like that. And I like everything here, there's a place for everything too. Just don't look at "Odds and Ends" if you don't want non-truck related stuff, that's for non truck related topics. It's also the first place I go to, I like the stories, jokes, and dead cow pictures myself. In fact, i'm responsible for a lot of it...I could even be part of the problem...I could even BE the problem, so i'll just leave now...last you'll hear of ol' other dog...bye. By the way, the whole "Spot the Wonder Dog" series, proudly written by rhasler and other dog and posted in "Odds and Ends", was a masterpiece!..just my opinion of course.
  24. As we know, Old Bill has been having some difficulties lately. He told me a while back that he was downsizing- getting rid of some stuff, that is- because he's planning to move from Elliot Lake to Blind River at some point. He asked me if i'd be interested in having any of it and I said "hell yeah, i'd be honored to have anything". He already sent me some pictures, some license plates, a cap, calendars, the carved wooden Peterbilt, etc. But yesterday when Jo picked me up at the shop she said "you got a great big box from Old Bill". Came home and opened it and found these pictures, in nice frames, not the dollar store frames like I always use. These pictures are all on his website. The dates on the back of them are 1965 on the B-model picture, 1954 on the cbe KW and Freightliner, and 1970 on the R-model. That's Bill himself by the Autocar. Neat stuff, eh?
