  1. we might have had slaw, I don't remember. By the time all was said and done I could hardly walk for some reason- must have been tired. I do remember picking some macaroni out of the garden so Jo could make macaroni salad.
  2. yeah, the offset firebox is great for smoking. I usually put charcoal in it to start, then just add oak, hickory, or maple wood as needed. I don't use it for cooking a steak, chicken, or burgers, just cook them directly over charcoal in the main grill. I did smoke the chicken yesterday using just the indirect heat because I had plenty of time to cook it.
  3. i'll put them in the mail Tuesday, the post office will be closed tomorrow.
  4. Grill loaded to full capacity- done smoking, 4 or 5 hours. time to wrap them up an let them finish cooking in my old outdoor wood fired gas stove oven. I even cooked 2 chickens- time for a cold one now! everybody that liked the ribs, raise your hand... hmmmmph!..only 2 peoples liked them.
  5. I saw on the keystone museum website that they're going to tour the P.L. Duncan collection too, he has lots of old everything at his place!
  6. like what?
  7. Hey, that describes me to a "T"- so..........what's yer point? ... I'll try to get you a picture of a man texting while driving, iffen that's what you really want.
  8. Just from seeing the videos he seemed like a really nice person, wish I could have met him.
  9. Let us know when you're coming down, David,Mark,Ed,Larry, and myself will try to meet you there,Ed's buying the hotdogs.
  10. on rt. 60, just east of Rupert,W.V.
  11. I noticed it was painted just like Dr. Bill's but I didn't know they had it down there. I saw it had Va. antique tags on it, just thought it was a different one painted similar. Got a couple of videos of it, definately gotta go check that out.
  12. if she was there i'd gladly pay for a hotdog and get an overweight ticket too.
  13. I've got ribs smoking now, i'll have pictures later.
  14. the forklift at the shop.
  15. Not much really. But since i'm always scouting the the elusive U-model nowadays, I think this wrecker is a U. Can't see the front or side, but I think it is. Not the Dodge, but the one back farther off the road. It's sitting at the same place this one is. I saw a Superliner smoking- seen this one before at the truckstop at exit 146 on 79. saw another Superliner that was not smoking 2 red Macks a girl in a car texting some scrappers- I hate when I get fuel and some idiot has left the nozzle like this. If I were king i'd fire someone for sliding it on the ground underneath a truck, it's not necessary. I waste a lot of ether or brakleen cleaning the fuel nozzle before I stick it in my tank.
  16. except when you tipped over dumping- hope it didn't twist the frame too bad.
  17. Bob Dylan's only 40? wow, I thought he was 40 when I was just a boy. "you shouldn't oughta talk like that, you're just a boy"- Karl Childers
  18. yep, they're pretty sharp about that kind of thing- almost like they have ESPN.
  19. Remember a while back when I said I saw a yellow G-model on rt. 360 in Keysville, Va. and rode over to look at it in the pickup, but it was gone?..nobody? I know Mark remembers because he said he went to Keysville to look too. Well, anyhow, when I was leaving for Moundsville, W.V. with a load of those mats Wednesday Jeff Moore was leaving in his pickup to go to Va. Truck Center. in Roanoke. That's the Mack and Freightliner dealer. He told me I should stop by, they had free hotdogs. I told him no thanks, because the scales right across the street from them might be open. Not worth getting an overweight ticket for a free hotdog. Hotdogs aren't that expensive anyway, and I had a couple of bucks in my pocket. Yesterday he told me they also had some old trucks there, and I could have parked at the truckstop at Troutville and rode with him. Too bad we didn't think of that plan Wednesday, eh? I wasn't too interested in a hotdog, but I do love old trucks. He said there was a bright yellow G-model Mack and an H-model painted in Roadway colors there, plus some more old units on a trailer. He didn't have a camera, and didn't know how to take a picture with his phone. I told him about the G-model I saw, and he filled me in on some background about the Jones brothers. One Jones brother owns Abilene Trucking, out of Richmond. It's called Abilene because they're originally from Abilene, Va. One Jones brother owns Key Truck and equipment in Keysville, where I saw the G-model parked. One Jones brother is a truck salesman for Va. Truck Center. One Jones brother worked for Roadway. They also have this http://www.keystonetractorworks.com/ and that is where the yellow G-model and Roadway H is. I didn't know they had so many trucks there. I knew they had my late friend Gary Barr's Diamond T, he drove for Abilene, but on the museum website they just had tractor pictures.I found some truck pictures on their facebook page- I'm gonna have to go check this museum out soon. I'll see if Mark and David want to go too, we could meet for a hotdog.
  20. I've heard some wild stories about Hunt's Point Market, especially back in the 80's. Don't know how much was true but i'm still afraid to go to New York.
  21. Amen.
  22. .
  23. I used the little magnet antenna that came with the xm, only place it would stick was on the spot mirror over the passenger window and it only cut out in a few spots. It always cut out at Eagle Rock, by the big rock cliff, and at Iron Gate when you go between the mountain and the river. When the antenna finally gave out I cashed in my fuel points at Truck World and got a mirror mount antenna with the big knob on the end. It was only a few dollars more than another magnet type, and it never cut out where the magnet one did. The Sirious in the KW uses the antennas already on the truck, and when I put the xm in the pickup there was nowhere to mount the antenna so I had to buy another magnet type anyway. The antennas cost more than I paid for the radio in the first place.
  24. that's true, i'm only 5' 4", weigh about 120.
  25. He was, he was great. Even if a "kook" did call in he talked to them like they knew what they were talking about, and who knows- maybe they did.
