ya know, this is true. something I never thought about,a strap breaking like that. Now i'll be skeered to get that "last click" and the load might shift.Sleepwalker was right too,it coulda been worse. The ground was hard,actually asphalt,where I fell but at least it was flat.If there'd been metal,old pallets,or a piece of plywood with 800 20D nails driven through it from the bottom side with the pointy ends sticking up where I fell it could have been really bad.

The last thing I remember was trying to help her change her top in the driveway, because the yellow one had gotten stained somehow. I woke up several hours later, laying in the driveway with a tremendous headache, and a short piece of 2x4 laying next to me. Don't know what happened...

Gripping descriptions of what I saw this week! ...like this big red Paystar 5000 at Carter Lumber in Warren,Pa. These units were across the street from Carter Lumber in Warren,Pa. This is a white R-model dump truck. It was in Troutville,Va. and i'm still trying to get a good picture of the red wrecker in Fairmont.I was going north when I took this one. This B-model wrecker is still sitting on rt. 422 near New Castle, thought maybe it was the one Ben had. Saw this backup on 422 too. Had to stop and wait on that big hill up ahead 3 times, with a load of coils on. ...and that's all I saw this week- the end. Oh, wait, I almost forgot the U-model of the week! I've seen this truck in Rustburg for a couple of weeks at a construction site, but I thought it was a DM. It was parked in the Food Lion parking lot today. Went in to get some ribs that were on sale and as we were leaving I yelled "stop the vehicle, that's a U-model!" ...Hard to believe it's come to that...

I would have left yesterday going to Warren,Pa. with a load of lumber but we didn't get the load until late, and when I got loaded about 4pm. I was tightening a strap when it just snapped. I went rolling one way, my bar went the other way, and the strap flew over the trailer. I had all my weight on the bar trying to get that last click. It was raining at the time, and after I fell I came home to take a shower before I left. Todd had said I could load yesterday or this morning anyway. Didn't hurt me,except my left thumb is sore and swollen. Never had a strap just snap like that one did-never fell it tear,or stretch, it just snapped all at once like somebody hit it with an axe-a sharp axe. There were no cuts or tears in it at first either. It was a Kinedyne strap and I looked on the tag to see where it was made but it didn't say. The one Ancra strap on the trailer said "assembled in USA."

I was almost in tears myself, but I did enjoy watching her walk away- took another picture as she was leaving...

Jo wanted some meatloaf, but she wanted me to make it because i'm a much better cook. I like meatloaf too, but i've never made it in my life, so... I got on Craigslist and found a buffessional chef to come over and teach me how to make a meatloaf. She really seemed to know her stuff too. Unfortunately, Jo saw her and fired her before she got started good. I took a picture of her just before she was fired. ...and I still don't know how to make meatloaf, guess i'll just have to fake it.

or at least corner protectors! maybe Dozer did that on purpose because there's no kibbles and bits on there...unless they're on the bottom- yeah, that's what it is.
