That's exactly right. I made $2.75 an hour at my first real job, worked 46 hours a week and brought home $102.91. I figured you had to earn a raise, which I did, to $2.90 an hour, but the hours went to 40 a week, then I brought home $97.66. Worked there 2 1/2 years, then I took a welding job making $5.00 an hour for a couple years, then I started driving a truck in 1979 and have made about $1.83 an hour ever since.

I follow Allen West on facebook, and i'd vote for him tomorrow if I could. I read what he has to say, and I like him, Herman Caine, and Mike Huckabee.

Guess I need to stop there soon, i'm gray all over.

Saw this fancy Autocar yesterday in Buckingham when I was going to Dillwyn to load. Got a drive-by picture on the way back. Been there a long time, but it's usually parked in the back where it was hard to get a picture. It had a "for sale" sign on it at one time.

I gotta leave Sunday, going to Chester, W.V. Loaded yesterday, but they said to deliver Monday because it's supposed to be rough up there today. Might still be rough Monday, then I got to go to Alliance to get a load of firebrick. I loaded it in a van, so no frozen tarps anyway, woo-hoo!

Kind of like souse I guess- it might be delicious, but I don't know. Just don't look right to me.

This used to be at the shows too, but I haven't seen it the last couple years. It's not as tall as the other one. This was taken in Greensboro when they had that show at the NAPA warehouse. Same show, they just moved it slightly west to the farmer's market in Colfax.

I looked, but I couldn't figure out how it worked. Tried typing where it said to type but nothing happened. Clicked "start broadcasting" and it said something about my camera and speakers, but my webcam hasn't worked for years, so I gave up.

I always have black eyed peas and greens on New Years. It's a traditional southern meal, along with hog jowls. The peas are supposed to bring good luck, the greens money, and the hog jowls- I have no clue, so I skip the hog jowl. Seen a woman at Long Mountain Grocery getting some sliced the day before yesterday though. Should have asked her what they were for.

I was flipping through the channels a few weeks ago and caught that just as it was going off, i'd like to see it.

Wow, sounds like the "macho man" 's story, a driver and good friend of mine. He was bitten on his heel by a brown recluse spider, but he didn't go to the doctor for a while and by then it was badly infected and just wouldn't heal. Took them a while to figure out what it was when he finally did go. He ended up losing his leg at the knee. I stopped by his house in Farmville several times to see him, then heard that he had passed away a year or so after he lost his leg.

Took a ride down to Cumberland to see the folks today. Saw this mashed up Western Star sitting at Cumberland Auto Service, so I pulled in and Jo took a pic. out of the passenger window. Took one of their 9500 GMC wrecker too. Saw this Ford pickup there too. And this one I saw on facebook- pretty neat, eh?

I used to load a lot of beams there too. Best to have your lunch, and supper for that matter, when you went there to load!

It's right at the other end of the Key Bridge in the bridge picture, it's a pretty good pull going up the bridge, the toll booth is right at the bottom.

I only made a short trip this week. I went to Lynchburg Thursday and picked up the trailer I dropped Monday, then loaded a load going to Hanover, Md. because the driver that usually makes that run was sick. Reloaded in Baltimore yesterday morning and got it off in Lynchburg yesterday evening. I thought about getting Graham the drivable Mack truck for Christmas, but decided to wait until his birthday in June, when he'd get a lot more use out of it. Then I found out his granny got him a battery powered Jeep, so it would have been redundant anyway. He loves Bob the Builder, so I looked for construction equipment. He doesn't seem too interested- Well, maybe a little... Doing his daily 200 pushups? I saw the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. ...and this boat. I was crossing the bridge on the way back when I took this one. And the old Bethlehem Steel plant at Sparrows point. I've loaded many loads of steel there over the years, it was a busy place, trucks everywhere...now, nothing. Looks like they're tearing at least part of it down. And I might have seen Freightrain out touring on the Cub Cadet, but I'm not sure. Then on the way home I saw a damsel in distress in Winfall, but I didn't have time to stop.
