  1. I seen O out in my travels.! I only seen 2 so far and those two were at Cook Bros in Binghamton sitting. I think the Titan is goona be a very scarce truck amoung trucks and only goona be a special order truck and not just a stock truck anymore. Any input on this? Terry
  2. If all you mack diehard mack fans can help me it will be appriecated. I am doing some research on Mack. 1) What is the last year for the cat engine in the RD700? Also what HP's were they? 2) What is the last year for the Cummins in the RD700? Also what HP's were they? 3) What is the last year for the steel nose DM600 and the RD600 4) What is the last year for the DM800? 5) What is the last year for the RD800 and what engine were offered? So if any of you guys can help me out it will be great. Please and Thanks. Terry E Davis of Johnson City NY
  3. Mark, There you are mark! Well I respect what you say and why you feel the way you do about Volvo/Mack on your experience . My experience with Volvo/Mack had been a really great one and I can see Volvo turning around mack to the good. I also grew up around trucks in our family business with Kenworths and Macks and still have very good luck with them and any problem we had or have we got taken care of with no problems. So I guess it depends on your dealership and by what your saying here you had a very bad time with your dealership were we have a very good relationship with the dealerships we deal with. I have to tell you my 1st favorite truck is Kenworth and the 2nd is the Mack becuase those two brands is all I grew up with and have great faith in and stand behind them 100%. So again I say Mack is here to stay and is not going away! Thanks to Volvo by saving mack and trying to make mack a better product. Sorry I had to say that to bust on you guys in here. Thanks mark for your nice responce and now I know were your coming from based on your expeirence. Terry Terry
  4. BULLHUSK, Thank you for your nice input and info. What I dont get is some poeple are really hateing and being very negative against Volvo when there trying to turn mack around for the better. Also most of the problems that mark is complaining about is not only Volovo/Mack its mostly with every truck and car builder out there. I also asked mark "If volvo did not buy mack were do you think mack would be now? Well he skipped over that and went on saying what he said as you seen on is posts. What I think and I maybe wrong is the old timers on this baord dont like change and they despies volvo whether they do good or bad and dont give volvo a chance and they wished volvo never bought mack. That is why I say if volvo did not buy mack were do you think mack would be now? Mark sorry I am picking on you but in a friendly way. About the prices on mack there inline with other trucks or less in price than other trucks but excludes the Titan which I think is why over priced compared to there comptition. Maybe I am wrong but this is what I am seeing. Also the left over 2010 Titans there giving huge discounts on which are very good prices and they should of did this when they first come out with the Titan and you would of seen alot more of them sold and on the road working today. Still to this day there a very scarce truck on the road whick I hope they will sell more Titans this year than last so we see more Titans out there working. But I have faith in Volvo and they will turn Mack aroound for the good. Terry
  5. Mark, Mack is here to stay and its not going away. Also correct me if I am wrong did mack own brockway and hayes? Also why did mack get rid of brockway and hayes if they owned them. Yes the qaulity went down with mack after volvo took over but will in time the quality of mack will get better. Things take time and it dont happen over night so to speak. If volvo did not have much faith in the mack product I am sure volvo will get rid of mack or do what they did with autocar ,white/gmc., So they do have great faith in the mack product becuase mack is still here and here to stay and not going away. I have great faith in what volvo will do with mack and only great things will soon be here in time. Seek posotive from Volvo instead of seeking the negative. Also when you say " the trucks continue to be more complicated, more expensive" You have to expect that and not just Volvo or Mack its with everthing in cars and trucks. You have to give the ceo credit becuase he went out in the field and recieved alot of feed back and hopefully he will change things for the better for mack. He is trying! All this pep talk I am doing here I feel like I am talking to my kids I coach in high school sport teams. Buy hey we live and learn for there better in life. So I hope you will pick up your head and support volvo and the posotive mark. Terry E Davis of Johnson City NY
  6. Mark, If Volvo did not buy mack were do you think mack would be now? Maybe I mis spoke on volvo saved mack. All we can do is sit back after this and see if the ceo make changes towards to good after talking to his workers. I am trying to just think posotive here and hopeing for the best for mack. You have to have confindence with the ceo and mack. Yes I do see the quality in mack is down but so is other manufactors in this country are down and its not just mack. But what I dont get is all the Mack die hard fans on this board dont give Volvo a chance and give them time to turn mack around like there trying to do but instead I see some mack die hard mack fans bashing volvo to no end on this board. Nothing happens over night. Looking back at this its like football here. Say your favorite team is wining then everyboody is happy but when your favorite team in looseing you bash the hell out of them but there still your favorite team. I dont think that way. I always think that there is a better light at the end of the tunnel we we will get there at some point and it will take time and not over night and I dont bash my favoritre team. Also I am not here to start problems I am just making some valid points on a friendly note. Terry E Davis Of Johnson City NY
  7. I think the reason they dont sell alot of Titans is becuase of the price of them. Mack dealers wont buy them for a stock unit they have to be ordered by a customer and sold. Our Mack dealership had 3 of them and had problems selling all of them. They sat on the lot for about one year before they were sold and one of the three got transfered to another dealer becuase our mack dealer wanted it gone. Plus the resale on the titan is not good niether from what they cost new. If I was in the market for a Titan I would buy a used one rather then buying a new one. To this day I never seen a Titan out on the road. We do have one running in my area hauling milk for Conventry Trucking and its mostly in the shop than on the road. They had the truck for 4 months and its been in the shop around 6 times allready. Terry
  8. Volvo is good for mack and mack is here to stay thanks to volvo. Hope this put all the rumors on this board to rest with all the mack diehard poeple on this board. Terry
  9. VOLOVO IS GOOD FOR MACK AND MACK IS HERE TO STAY! After seeing the program and what the ceo said I was impressed and I hope it will put all those rumors here on this board to rest. I think volvo saved mack and if volvo did not buy mack, Mack might of went under. But we will never know that becuase Volvo saved mack and made it better. Terry
  10. As of 2/6/11 no new titan has arrived here in the mack dealer in Binghamton. How about down in Scranton? All they have new here is the Mack Granite tractor and that new 08 Hino service truck oh yea and a new cxu613 pinacle day cab tractor. Terry
  11. When Volvo bought Mack I thought All the dealerships will sell both brands under a Volvo dealership but I see that did not happen. I see dealerships that sell's both and dealership that only sell one of the brands. Why is that? Here in the Binghamton NY area we have one the Cook family that owns the Mack Dealership and the Burr family that owns the Volvo dealership. Two separate Familys. Does the Dealership have a choice of what brand they want to carry? Thanks, Terry E Davis of Johnson City N.Y.
  12. The white Titan was up in binghamton for the longest time and I did see it gone so I thought it probaly went back down to scranton. They had that white titan over 1 year and I am glad to see they sold it now. Do you know who bought it and what there gonna use it for? I am suprised there gonna get another Titan after they had problems selling the 3 they sold. Terry
  13. Also there were three white GU713 up here and they went to Vestal Asphalt for pulling Dragon 130bbl tanker wagons. Terry
  14. I saw that GU712 up here at the mack dealer in Binghamton last week. Looks very tough. I had to take a secound look at it to see if it was a 4wheel drive. Maybe going to the Town Of Union becuase of the color but that is just a guess. Terry E Davis of Johnson City NY
  15. I see there is two 2010 mack titans for sale. They were repoed and the new cost on them were 146,000 new and there for sale for $118,000. They only have around 30 to 40k miles on them also. The resale value on the titans are very bad compared what they cost new. But for the buyer its great! Makes you wounder! I see the Blue Mack Titan for Converty in the shop alot at Binghamton Mack Truck Dealer. I kinda of knew the resale value on the Titan would not be good compared to what they cost new. The white titan is still not sold. Atleast they sold the maron and the blue Titan. I think there hopeing one of the gas drilling companys would buy the white Titan becuase most of there trucks are white. Any updates on a sleepers or a steel nose for the Titan yet? Terry E Davis of Johnson City NY
  16. Please dont buy that truck! Just becuase they piad your hotel and food that just a giimick for you to buy a nightmare of a truck. Alot of untold secrets behind that truck. Enough siad! Terry
  17. I knew that truck was priced too low as I said on your other post. No wounder why becuase as the way you describe the truck that is run in the ground. Now I understand why the price of the truck is low. But I am very glad that you saw it in person and not comit to buy it. I guess your salesman hood wicked you on white lies over the phone or just mislead you. I hope you find the right truck for what you want and find a honest salesman and ask very precise questions about the truck u may be interested in. Good Luck! Terry
  18. Nice truck! The price is low also. I wounder why?, considering a truck like that was sold out of Binghamton Mack for 110 grand. That is the thing with mack . They dont hold there value. The titan is goona be very intresting when the used titans hit the used market and see what kind of price they get for them considering its the most exspensive truck out there now! Terry
  19. I saw in the truck paper a Mack Dealership has the 2008 Mack Titan tri axle heavy hauler Show Truck for sale for 139,900. Not a bad price. This truck should be a 2 year old mack demo unit also. I wounder if thats the only 2008 Titan out there? Also did they make a 2009 Titan? becuase I thought when the Titan went out for sale to the public for the first time there 2010 Titans. Now I see in the truck paper a mack dealer has a 2009 Titan for 132,000. I did not think 2009 Titans were ever made. Still I have not seen a Titan out on the road working. Maybe I will see coventrys Titan out on the road hauling a milk tanker. There only 30 miles up the road from me and its the very 1st Titan sold in my area. The white one is still for sale in Binghamton Mack And I think the Maron Titan is still for sale in Scranton Mack. They had them two for almost 8 months or more now. They were asking 144,000 for one. I wounder when the used Titans hit the market they will hold there resalevalue against other trucks compared to the Titan. I know the CL700 dont hold there resale value. Terry
  20. How can you put a value on something that old? U cant! Its only worth what your willing to pay for it. Terry
  21. The whie Titan is still in Binghamton sitting outside now all the time. The blue Titan I heard they sold it to conventry trucking. They do milk hauling in the Binghamton area and there out of Green ny in a little hamlet of Conventry. I am starting to notice there starting to drop the prices on the 2009 Titan by 5k to 7k. The lowest price I saw on a Titan was 134k. They should of had that price on the truck from the get go. That shows you thats why they still have these Titans still sitting in the mack lots becuase there would not budge on the price. Granted there coming down in prices on the 2009's just to get rid of them. Hey I say sell more for less money the rather sell less for more money when you put out a new product like the Titan but I guess Volvo dont get that. Does anybody else here get it? Also I still have not seen a Titan out on the road working yet. I went thru New Jersey area on rt80 going down to Long Island area and I see alot of heavy haulers Superliners and CL700's but no Titans and I would think becuase there so popular in the tri state area you would start to see the Titans but I see none so far. Anyways I am hoping in 2010 Mack will drops prices on the Titans and I see them working out on the road rather then me see them sitting on the Mack lots. Terry
  22. I can see this post going very posotive in seeing the good in Volvo and Mack togather as one. Terry
  23. Mack Inc at this time does not offer a Mack Factory oem sleeper for the Titan. There waiting of the new smog law for this coming year then they maybe will offer oem sleepers for the Titan. The only sleeper u can put on the Titan is an after market and Mack Inc does not recommend it. Terry E Davis of Johnson City N.Y.
  24. Wow I hate to see what you guys say if Volvo decides stop making Mack all togather, just like Mack did with Brockway. You never know it might happen!lol. Rather looking at all the bad things u think Volvo is doing to Mack look at all the good things also that Volvo is doing with Mack. Think posotive and not negative. Terry
  25. As of 9/17/09 The White Titan is now up at the Binghamton loactation and the Blue Titan is no were in sight. Maybe they finally sold a Blue Titan? In hoping they did! Also I have no yet sen a Titan out on the road working or moving! I just see them sitting at the mack dealer looking pretty and not getting dirty! What a shame. Terry
