I am going to Macungie on Saturday so could pick it up at the show. Let me know if you have one and contact info so we meet at the show. Thanks, Firemack

  10. That's correct but the B75F is not on the hood, just B75 which caused the confusion.
  11. As long as the pump test passes the truck can be any age. The NFPA sets the standard for pump tests and does not define any particular age for replacement. We are a class A township in PA, and just sold a 17 year old truck that passed the pump test with flying colors for $75,000, so we can get a new truck that will basically provide the same service but cost about $400-$500K. If your town doesn't want to spend $400-$500K, maintain the older trucks and keep them tested annually and they will most likely provide good service until they are 50 or beyond. Our B model Mack served in active duty for 48 years before being retired and restored as a parade truck. Firemack
  12. Thanks for taking the time for posting these Tractors of the month. When trucks were all unique and was fun going down the road naming each one. Firemack
  13. Superdog How much for the lot?
  14. Absolutely the FWD's with Detroit Diesels were great! 6 WD with all that low end Detroit diesel torque. And they sounded great too!
  15. Hi Paul Look forward to seeing you there again! Ever find any hardie gun rebuild kits? I need the rubber washers and are various size and thicknesses, I know that at one time you could get the whole kit to rebuild them. Thanks Firemack
  16. Randy FYI on the Halligan, Maybe it wasn't used by your department, we had then on every truck, of course we also had aluminum ladders on our 1948 Mack, and had one of the first motorized fire trucks in 1906. The tool was designed by and named after a New York City Fire Department First Deputy Chief named Hugh Halligan in 1948. Later that year the first prototype of the Halligan bar was made by Peter Clarke (a blacksmith).[2] Despite being invented by one of its members, the FDNY did not initially purchase the tool because of a perceived conflict of interest.[3] The City of Boston Fire Department was the first major customer of the Halligan, purchasing one for every fire company in the city. The tool was popular enough that members of New York ladder companies went out and bought it with their own money until the department ultimately decided to purchase the tool.[
  17. Macks came with a standard list of items supplied with the truck. If not here is a good list for a 1950's truck: Hux Bar, Halligan, Pick head ax, Flat head ax, flashlights, hammer, spanners, hydrant wrench, generator, circle K lights, cord reel, 2 -1/2 nozzles, 1 1/2 nozzles, navy nozzle and applicator, wooden pike pole, strainer & rope, tool box, early chem ox air packs. You can find most of these items at Spring Melt. Firemack
  18. I drove a CL 9000 in 1979 when they were new, it ran pretty good and don't remember too much down time, then the owner went out and bought a brand new 1980 IH Transstar II with a 350 cummins and fuller 13 speed roadranger. I got the newest truck and it had AC! Driving in California with doubles,we ran LA to Phoenix and would drive to desert center swap trailers and drive back. The other guys were always pissed that the youngest guy got the newest truck! I do remember that we didn't have many Macks in California, mostly just concrete trucks with a modified U cab. We did have a L model firetruck across from school and I always wanted to buy it, but the guy wouldn't sell. Maybe that's how I ended up restoring the B model firetruck, always wanted a Mack! 19. Randy, Now thats the best comment from you in awhile and true statement! I got a good laugh from that one! If we could only get you to stop bitchin about the screamin demon detroits and the price of gas to drive your truck would be good. and If your truck had a detroit it wouldn't cost you as much to run and you could drive it more places and be seen and not just heard on the site! Firemack
  20. Jeff, I did not tilt the cab to see the engine up close, what I heard from CF600 was it is a F609T 673 duplex single axle. With some fresh diesel and a battery it started right up, air brakes worked and drove it up the street and parked it for the day. It has a Nevada title so it is an eastern built Mack with Dayton wheels but must have spent most of its life in Nevada and California, so doesn't have the typical F Model rust.
  21. MACK F600T being trailered by MH612
  22. Mack F 600 finds a new Home The Mack 1985 MH 612 put on 477 miles yesterday picking up the 1966 Mack F600T. Thanks to Mack MHE9 for taking the picture and posting the F600T and providing the contact info for the seller. We had a few challenges getting it on the low boy (broken air lines, cab not locked , ice on the roadway etc.) but after a little determined effort we did get it loaded up and made our way back home. The F600T now happily resides with CF600 and should make it to Macungie or Lititiz next year!
  23. Mack MHE9 Thanks for posting this info on the F model. Can you check the phone number 814 345 2275 as it does not connect. Any other contact info for the owner? Do they have email? Where is the truck located so we can see it. Thanks Firemack
