  1. The Augliera truck is a perfect example of how a U should look, IMO of course. The first 2 are U models that had the cabs knocked "on center" as the result of a driver's side rollover. The third is a "Lady U", designed by men to be driven by women.
  2. Mercer still has no age requirement on tractors as long as it passes the DOT inspection. http://mercertown.com/join/ Living in western PA i see plenty of steel haulers running older equipment. BESL is another company that comes to mind, and they have 3 terminals in SC. https://www.besl.com/v3/index.html
  3. Spain, Portugal, California-It's definitely one of those Spanish speaking countries.
  4. I was about to say it looked "home made" when I found this. Scroll down, it's in the right column: http://combscustommfg.com/mack_truck_partsbody
  5. I believe the picture is from Spain and it's definitely a U model.
  6. I'm not one to judge. I guess I'm just an old softy.
  7. That's what I've been hearing about the "prep" period. BTW, she's booked solid and by some strange coincidence, all of her patients are named Jim. Kinda sorta like a prostate exam. It's uncomfortable but not painful. Just one of those things that all male adults above a certain age should do. I will say that the first time I had it done, I had no idea that the doctor would "sneak up from behind" to check it. Now THAT was funny!
  8. Slipped a pair on when I saw "cookie" in the title.
  9. I went to our Pittsburgh terminal to swap out a retired Sterling for a new Pinnacle, equipped with an mp7-395 and Mdrive transmission to bring back to my terminal. I normally would have parked it when I got back to my terminal but since my truck was in for service I decided to stay in the Mack. The rest of the night had me running a 423 mile triangle including a round trip across the Allegheny's on the PA Turnpike with 27,000# on the way out and 33,000# coming home. While that's not super heavy by any means, it's typical of what I run nightly so I was able to make a fair comparison the other trucks I've driven on that route. Having been turned off by my experience with the early UltraShifts for the reasons mention above, I was pleasantly surprised by the way this truck performed. It pulled even the long grades with minimal effort and and was very "comfortable" running in top gear at 1150 rpm as I nervously waited for a downshift and kept reaching for a stick that wasn't there. I only had to deal with a few traffic lights in downtown Pittsburgh but it seemed to handle repeated slowing and accelerating with no problem whereas the UltraShift would get "confused" in that situation. Even backing was nice and smooth.
  10. Happy Birthday. I decided to wait before posting so Mike and Bob wouldn't look so bad. With a name like Bigen, one would assume that he does in fact have "a fine one".
  11. The '81 in my avatar had it's cab replaced in the mid-90's. The metal parts were grey metallic and the interior was completely covered in black vinyl, identical to the tan upgrade package posted by Yoos Bros.
  12. That's a shame. It's the most beautiful Superliner I've ever seen. It's parked in a field and surrounded by hundreds of U models. All of the driver's doors are open with the serial numbers in view. An absolutely breathtaking sight.
  13. That's a very early R model. Wright should be spelled Right. That aside, I will say you do an excellent job communicating in the english language and I enjoy reading your posts.
  14. I was a member of the Painters and Allied Trades for 11 years and still feel there is a necessity for labor unions in this country, but these idiots are digging their own grave. If Chris Christy and Barack Obama can put their differences aside and work together in the recovery effort, there's no reason those jackoff's shouldn't welcome the help they need in any way, shape, or form for the sake of the people they were hired to serve and who pay their salaries. Unfuckinbelievable.
  15. You need to start running 2 sets of logs, Driver.
  16. Welcome aboard! There's no need to ask before posting photos, the answer will always be the same.
  17. I just wet myself.
  18. Ooh, ooh, I wonder if Vinny has that serial number in his collection...... Nice shift knob. Is it illuminated or does it just look that way in the daylight?
  19. Shuster's had a run that would have deliveries anywhere between Chestertown, MD and Eastville,VA. The area around I-95 is a mess but fortunately there's still plenty of unspoiled real estate on the 50/301 and 13/113 corridors. I've always enjoyed running that part of the east coast...except for OC in the summer.
  20. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I'm outnumbered 3 to 1 in my house. I haven't yet purchased a shotgun out of fear that I would turn it on myself long before it would be brought out for it's intended use.
  21. I had a prostate exam last week and it was done by an attractive Nurse Practioner. It's a shame tipping is not allowed at Doctor's offices. On November 19, I have a consultation visit for an upcoming Colonoscopy. That doesn't sound nearly as fun.
  22. Nice find. Good to see so many trucks still intact, there's always hope. The R model with the Mercury sleeper has the tall man roof option.
  23. Foreign countries have some unusual customs.
  24. Rape would be a walk in the park compared to your boar hog escapade. Besides, you'll most likely be pooping yourself which will be a turn off for any most rapists.
