Sounds like housing over here … this area and a good part of California… upcoming generation can’t even afford to buy a house now … it’s disgusting …

I just sold the the first house I bought when I was 24. A 75 year old 1100 square foot ranch shoe box in the Pittsburgh suburbs. It is the definition of a starter house. Cost me $730/month including taxes and insurance when I first bought it but had crept up to about $890 recently due to property tax and insurance premium increases. I thought it was a super affordable place to live at those rates. I saw at the closing the young kid that just bought it has a payment on it of $2460/month for the next 30 years. I couldn't believe it. I felt sorry for him.

Yes, I realize your prices are about the same as they are here. Everybody is paying that now in my area a little house in Massachusetts. My parents paid 13,000 for it in 1960. It’s now worth 670,000. I don’t know what happened here or who can afford anything like that When I left New England you could buy a really nice place with a little property for around 35,000. 1980

And it is a beauty. We cant open american  FB marketplace over here so can you tell me what price its selling for? Dont worry about talking over my tread I love the chatter!!! Houses are the same over here.I paid 12000 Irish pounds for mine in 1989.Adjusted for inflation and converted to euro its about 21000 euro about 23500 USD.Its now valued at 350,000 euro about 405000 USD.

i used to be able to open facebook posts on here just click on them.even though i dont have a facebook account,, till a couple days ago all of a suddeen they wont open ,,but only some of them,,, some others will open:idunno:

I don't have Facebook. Never have. But its the only place people seem to list their "junk" for sale anymore. I have found that using SearchTempest.com is kind of a "back door" into Marketplace without having to have a FB account. Browsing only and you have to be careful with how long you scroll or it locks you out. You have to open listings in new tabs then it "resets" in that browsing tab and you can start a new search. Its a PITA workaround but such is life. Everyone uses it now to sell their stuff and I refuse to put my information on there so I can't complain. Trouble is if I actually find something I want to buy I have get my wife to contact them for me....
