Gold bulldog

I bought a new gold dog for my r model, an the front paws don't set flush on the pedestal, neither on the old one or new one. Anyone had this problem?

I don't recall the front legs sitting on the pedestal . one of those things didn't get attention. to me it's another sign of the times items being made cheaper in quality not price.  as a thought . cut two pieces of the rubber/ felt put on chair bottoms ? having sticky glue ? install on front legs . neat job in cutting won't be seen but might take the gap up and add support??

Or grind a little off the rear legs till it sits properly to your liking. IDK    .....Hippy

would be interesting to see if someone else has this situation ? grinding the back legs might require some engineering if I remember the back legs sat on a beveled pedestal . grind one too much the  ole doggy will be cock eyed .

And the back legs are threaded. So the bolts will need washers to fit right.

I also dont know what models had the front legs on the base.

I had the bulldog and pedestal mounted on my '77 F-350 hood. had to slightly notch the bottom center to fit ford hood. don't remember how doggy sat. he did have a custom made red/white/blue winter hat to keep his ears warm.

We were at the Mack museum a few years ago. The older lady in the store said she had worked at Mack for years. She didn't like the style of the new bulldog. Said it looked like a bitch taking a piss!!! LOL!

My son's '75 MB fire truck has a red, white, and blue sweater. l still have the red scarf off my '77 R model thats at least 40 years old. It's keeping the dog on the ash tray warm.    .....Hippy

Looks like a different dog for the hood......Id love a pair of half dogs for the cab sides......
