Hi All, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from New Zealand.

I'm going to replace the bushes on my 34K Camelback during the Christmas holidays and I'm wondering if any one had the torque setting for the U bolts?

Ive been looking everywhere and cant find anything.

Kind Regards

Keegan Hewlett

old school rule of thumb was :: as tight as you can get them. depended on what you have for tools ' air or manual  also.  such a technical world today. the follow up retorque was the important part for most.  did the replacement of cutting edges on a D-8 dozer in hot blazing sun one Sunday afternoon ; was the concern over torque =He-- no ; tighten them there bolts.

Apply 20wt non-detergent motor oil to the (rubber) trunnion insulators at installation.

That's an odd spec.

its real oil, I just bought 2 cases,  you can also use anti seize if you get the oil

Sure, just an odd spec.  Like it actually makes a difference that it's 20wt vs whatever oil the engine is using.  5w40, 15w40, etc.

i meant to say ''if you cant get the oil''  sorry.  as far as oil grades,  I was shocked when the MP came out and it uses 10W30,  I think they use 5W30 now..   Too me, a heavy oil can handke more torque, of course bearing and bushing tolerences matter too.  hows the suspension job going?

It's Mack spec, straight out of the Mack instructional "service bulletin".

Again, note that I said 20 weight and "non-detergent".

Sure, but there's no reason I can think of.

I work in lubricants, so I review lube specs WAYYYY too often.
