34k Camelback saddle cap insulator spacers

Recommended Posts

on My 77' RS700L with 34k mack camelback. It did not have the steel spacers inside the aluminum caps when I pulled them off. The few other 34k I have worked on also did not have them. Everyone is telling me they should have it but I think its only used on heavier axles?

whats the story with these?

As Terry said. And I doubt they used on anything lighter than 44000.

the parts guy. who was also a mechanic said he always found them in camelbacks when doing a rebuild on them. i know they come in the heavier versions but i had never seen them in 34k. i might return them as i see no need for what i do with the truck.

I have taken camelbacks apart and there weren't any "Twinkies" in the boxes,  On some I have added them the repair.  I'm with Terry on this one..  I also hadnt gotten a complaint after adding the "Twinkies" to springs that didnt have them..Jojo
