David1994 Posted May 15, 2020 Share Posted May 15, 2020 Ok so i have a 1994 ford L9000 and it will not start... the starter is fine. The truck just won't turn all the way over. Sometimes it will start up and run for a couple hours until it randomly shuts off. The truck has 3 brand new batteries. My coolant and oil is fine. The water separator is also fine. Truck Shop Posted May 16, 2020 Share Posted May 16, 2020 Well before we go any further you need to nail down what exact engine you have. Because starting in 94 the L10 became the M11 Celect tier 2 engine, the L10 was mechanical. There should be a data plate on the left front of engine telling you what it is. David1994 Posted May 31, 2020 Author Share Posted May 31, 2020 Ok all i see is 300842 on the side of the motor. It is a cummins big cam. It has a cummins PT fuel system and i don't think the electric fuel shut off valve is wired correctly. It only has 1 post on it. Should i rewire that? slingblade Posted November 15, 2020 Share Posted November 15, 2020 Check the fuel shutoff solenoid first,also check the fuel flow using a clear hose to the filter on the pump,if its pulling air in via the fuel pickup in the tank,sometimes they break,sometimes the fuel lines crack inviting air into the system.
