A few years ago I rode on a short trip in a series of cars pulled by the 611 . It was amazing the power it had would pull you back in your seat on start up .

I rode the J611 here in VA a few years ago. I forget where we went but it was pricey and I remember being in Manassas, VA. I found a picture and it says 2016. I think we rode to Front Royal and then returned to Manassas.

I just happen to watch a show on PBS last night about train excursions and that was one of the places they talked about.

Bob, on the way to Reno my friend and I journeyed out of our way to go to the Nevada Railway Museum in Carson City. It is a nice museum with some neat old things.

My Father was a big railfan.  He talked about riding Amtrak out west and going to D&RG and others. We never got to take that trip.
