Leaking Air Valve:

Rob

Recommended Posts

What is the valve called that has the yellow knob one pushes to release the spring brakes, (PP1, PP2)? The one in the "new" RL leaks when it is pushed in. A slight touch on the yellow knob from the side causes it to leak air also when the brakes are set.

I'm to the point of doing maintenance on the air system and there are many leaks due to sitting I'm sure.

Thanks,

Rob

Does it come apart easily?? Bet it's only a dry o-ring.

How's the road trip plan coming along?

Boss is kicking my ass out next week. Too much vacation time stored up he says. I'm planning on trying to get out of here on Tuesday morning at 7:00a.m. headed your way.

I've got a new phone as I destroyed the other one, (again). I no longer have your phone number.

Never taken apart an air valve before but do see where there are rebuild kits available. It is a PP1 series valve according to Bendix literature. I'll prolly look into getting this problem taken care of rather shortly.

That explains only getting your voice mail and no return call LOL!!

I'm planning on taking all next week off(ya, I got too much vaca too). I'll get that confirmed probably tomorrow.

looks like I might be off next week too. Not because of vacation, because of nothing to do.

mine has done that sometimes- I usually wiggle it around, or twist it in, and it stops. I call it "the brake button". :D
