Lucky for me it is 3000 miles away. I N.Y. and Virginia any pre 1974 is a tracing of the VIN tag,a bill of sale and you get a 6 month non transferable registration/ title. If nothing shows up you get a transferable registration or title. The bad thing about that is, It's one less whole PW rolling around. In Washington St, It's worse If the paper work is not perfect when you go to the court house to re-title a vehicle expect a major hassle. And to get a vehicle inspected by the state patrol the waiting list could be 2 to 4 months depending on their log of inspections. And hope the inspector isn't having a bad day.
