Many of the low cab forward MB/MC-like E-series were sold in global markets and were a common site in New Zealand.

A fleet of 600 horsepower (Cummins KTA19) 6x6 K-Series (K2358s) with 6-speed Allison trannies.were originally sold to Goodyear Aerospace in 1986 and later turned over to the U.S. Air Force. They transported ballastic missile sections and had a rated GVW of 125 tons.

The G-Series was targeted at the oil field sector.

A friend of mine that lives near Des Moines bought one of those K series Oshkosh's on a gov't auct. in TX. Really cool truck,KTA 600 Cummins,Allison auto, surprising nicely upholstered interior, under 100k miles.First rip out with it,he drove it to one of our ATHS chapter meetings. The very next week it got stolen from his yard.Luckily,he had surveilance cameras and it showed the truck being loaded on a lowboy, pulled by a Pete 362 COE.The license wasn't clear enough to track it down, but luckily enough, his nephew was able to track it down,it was recovered in NE Iowa, about 170 miles away, the theif had cut the top out of the cab to clear underpasses on the way back to his place. After alot of hassle, they were finally able to get the law to check it out and they got the truck recovered.

Glad they got the truck found and returned, I had a Studebaker stolen from me and they scrapped it.

They gave an expired ID at the scrapper saddly the truck had been destroyed ! ;o( !

It was a fairly easy bust ! They got a years probation and had to pay me for the amount I was out ! Not the full collector value of it at the time of destruction ! Just what I paid for it ! They are off probation in a few months and haven't got a dime yet ;o(

I really hate thieves ! !
