The Haul of Fame

Recommended Posts

The haul of fame truck museum located on packer rd. in Canterbury ct is a really cool place. Every once in a while I will drive through the yard full of old iron lots of cranes and dozers and then a trip down "memory lane" an old bone yard that's really starting to thin out. I just wanted to make sure you guys knew about this place. The actual museum is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If your close enough take a ride through and check it out. Also I talked with Dennis Yaworski(owner) tonight and he reminded me that there is another museum located close by and is open daily.

Hello refusegetter, If I remember right, there was a Discovery Channel show done on this and I remember some 1927 Ahren Fox fire trucks and some very rare west coast Mack tractors but someone was saying part of the collection was sold off, but have never been there myself.....Paul

I wasn't aware of the tv program, but I know that part of the original collection ended up going to a new owner because of a legal issue. However there are a lot of really cool trucks still there. Also the men(who I believe volunteer) are full of knowledge. I could spend hours there! Also there is 2 locations only a couple miles away.

Yes A lot of truck have been takeen out of there I think they went to gary meahans place but not 100% sure on that. from what I have been told it was a business deal and when it went bad they took a lot of the truck in return. This s the story I have been told.

I wish I could have seen the whole collection before it was broken up. But from what I understand it was a business deal and the trucks were collateral. Bummer.

Vision that A model is pretty rare, I guess it's an early '28, it's got a red steering wheel and the e brake is to the left of the driver just like the model t

Umodelnut. I think I may have spotted a u, ill look into it tomorrow.

Pretty sure someone else has the Superliner now as well.

The tri-axle Superliner tractor they had was acquired by Gary Mahan and turned into this;

Was the U model orange? Cut off behind the cab?
