Chicago R models

Recommended Posts

I just happened upon this thread and hoping to get a bit of info.  My dad drove for Artim in the late 1960's.  Did any of the Artim Macks have other paint schemes other than the one on the cover?  I thought that they may have had a Red colored cab but cannot recall.  Trying to make a model of my dad's trucks.

You can but, with the Mack trans case being aluminum most people mount them with a bracket to help take up some of the weight.  We have them both ways and to date, I have not seen a Mack case crack.

Mine is direct mounted with an extra bracket hasn't been an issue.  Only been on for a couple months though

You need the bracket because the mounting surface on the PTO is adjustable to turn it for clearance issues, and tightens up with some real small allen bolts and will pull out without the bracket. i know because i had one do that once.   terry:MackLogo:
