So many young drivers on the roads today just dont know the age old feeling we had running the old macks around the city streets of New York. I mean, I hear guys bitch about the A/C not blowin cold enough, or the radio dont pick up the "hip hop" station. Let me say this, I would give anything to go back in time about 25 years. I had the honor to run with the best...Local 282 N.Y.C. for a long time. Nothing and I mean nothing beats the feeling and the grin that an old Mack gives its driver as your chugging over the Verrazanno bridge on a hot summers morning, steam coming off the DM radiator tank from the salt air mist blowing in from the ocean. The old AM radio sideways in the dash...cab vents open but still sweatin your balls off! 40 ton going over the bridge to the Island...ahh the good old days.

I never "sweated my balls off"; although that would have been a better alternative than what happened to me, (thanks "Momma"). Shit, at least I would have had something to be proud of.

Had a friend ride along last Saturday going to the racetrack. Been maybe 5-6 yrs since he actually rode IN the truck. Usually following with his race car. Anyhooo, he commented that it did ride nicer with the air ride out back..........BUT........it's still loud as hell inside LOL!!!! We had all the windows open and she has a pretty good bark pulling along. Conversations aren't held until we can coast along downhill.
