OK, so there are 688, 686, 685, 612 . . . i understand, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mack_R_series, that the leading 6 refers to the chassis, and the last two digits refers to the engine in the truck.

is there a list somewhere, that i have missed, listing that all these codes are?

thanx . . . . .

Here's a few of the 600 series for you.

607--- END673

609--- END711

611--- ENDT673C

612--- ETAZ673A (300+)

615--- END864

626--- 6V92 Detroit

685--- ENDT675

686--- ENDT676

688--- at first E6-350, later designated all Econdyne series 6 cylinder engines

690---later code for all Maxidyne series 6 cylinder engines

Nice one!

Do those codes also apply to the RW series? If not, I'd be grateful for a similar list for the RW series. Specifically, what would be the designation of a Cummins NTC350 engined Superliner? Thanks in advance, have a nice day
