  1. As of 6/12/09 both the maroon and blue one are still on the lot; however, the blue one was pulled near the shop entrance, so maybe by some stroke of luck its sold???? But who knows. I'll be at the Macungie show, I too am hoping to see a few heading "down the line".
  2. Congrats! And the best of of luck with that awesome looking truck.
  3. I'll be there on Saturday as well, that group photo sounds like a good idea, I hope I remember.
  4. Nice! I can't wait to see some of these things out and working.
  5. The Mack dealer in Scranton still has both the maroon and blue Titans.
  6. I'll be swinging by there tomorrow, I'll let you know what I find.
  7. As of Tuesday, both the Blue and Maroon ones were there.
  8. Awesome! I wish I could have seen it in person when it was at the World Headquarters. P.S. This truck is actually for sale at Kentuckiana Mack. http://www.kentuckianamack.com/pre_owned_d...186899&nv=y
  9. It seems that Coventry is not taking delivery of this Titan, it has been posted for sale on TruckPaper http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/detail....E9CF385DFA057BB
  10. That just means a total group of at least five. For example, if you and another person are looking to go, you call, and they pair you with a group of 3 or more. That's what I've done in the past. I've never been "refused".
  11. I actually like it, but then again, I'm used to sites like that. I just hate the loading on the main page. The rest seems fine.
  12. Here is #3. The white one was not there today. This blue one said "Coventry Transp" on the "window sticker". I'm really lucking out on catching these Titans, lol.
  13. Yeah, when I talked to one of the salesmen back in December, he said they were getting two Titans in January (obviously they didn't arrive until late March), one in Scranton, one in Binghamton. So I'm guessing that one of them will be making its way up to Binghamton. If I could drive a standard, I wouldn't mind driving one up to Binghamton for them, lol
  14. I didn't ask if they were sold, and who knows, $150,000 may be the "average" cost of a Titan. Since he knew I was not interested or capable of buying one, it may have just been a round about number.
  15. Well, I stopped by the dealer again the other day, and I found yet another Titan! This one (white one) has a Mack transmission.
  16. Here's an 08 GU with a steel body for $160,000. (Granted it does have an Allison auto) http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/detail....DBFBEF6A9D1C6D8
  17. Yeah, $150,000 does seem a bit steep; however, I've heard that price range a few places. Here's one on TruckPaper for $140,000. http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/detail....C7BDE609DC354BD
  18. I have been watching it, I think is a great show. My only questions is, how quick can those trucks climb hills with 100+ tons of load? I see the hills around here slow 80,000lb trucks down to 40mph. I'm assuming they all have big power (550hp+) but still.
  19. Hahaha I was told $150,000 as it sits Add $10,000 for a lift axle Add $35,000 for dump body Grand total: $195,000 **Edit: I should note, that they said: "your talking another $10,000 to $15,000 when you start adding lift axles and sleepers". So I don't know if he meant that a sleeper and lift axle totaled that much or what. Is it just me, or is $10k a bit high for a lift axle? And I didn't think the Titan was available with a sleeper yet in the US.
  20. I believe it's intended to have a lift axle, but since it just came in last week, they probably haven't had the chance to add it.
  21. Hi guys, a Titan has finally arrived at my local Mack dealer. It has 605hp, and an 18spd fuller, I wish I could have gotten better pics, but it was in a tough spot. -Dave
  22. I explored it last night and I like it! Much more organized. The only bad thing, none of those pics of the yellow Mack Titan with aluminum body are available for download, they're all small thumbs.
  23. Although I am usually a pessimist, I am trying to be optimistic about this issue. I look at it this way: Volvo's "strength": over-the-road tractors Macks's strength: vocational trucks End results by Volvo (my opinion): -Elimination of the Volvo VHD -Elimination of the Mack Pinnacle (both CHU and CXU) Keep in mind that White/Gmc and Autocar were "dying" brands. Just like Brockway, Diamond Rio, Marmon, Sterling, etc. They just didn't have the market share to allow them to survive. When Volvo bought those companies (White/Gmc and Autocar), they were giving them another shot, when they didn't perform, they were phased out. I look around at the trucks in my area, and 50% of them are "old" so to speak, and they are primarily Mack, Peterbilt, and KW. There are some Autocars and such around, but they are by no means very popular. If the Mack branded Volvos continue to be a popular, well performing, truck, I see no reason why Volvo would consider phasing the brand out at the risk of loosing all those customers entirely. I know the Macks of today aren't the Macks of yesterday, but what truck is? All brands of trucks have been outfitted with electronics, plastic, and other cheaper products. New trucks don't compare to old trucks in terms of build quality. Its a fact of life.
  24. There have been a few spotted around. See this thread (Sorry, its from another forum): http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/forum01/...p?topic=29562.0
