  1. These trucks were at TransEdge Truck Center in Schuylkill Haven, Pa. (Formerly Blue Mountain Mack) I know that the TransEdge Truck Center in Allentown (Formerly Allentown Mack), has a mod center and does a lot of the factory's modification work, as it is only 15mins from the plant. So I'm a bit confused as to why there were there in Schuylkill Haven.
  2. Hi guys, I know these pics are actually just over 2 years old, but I thought they looked pretty neat. These trucks are for Tarmac America, which according to my research is based in or near Florida. I'm not exactly sure what these trucks were doing here in PA just over 40 miles from the assembly plant though. Some have central tire inflation, and all are equipped with Allison Automatic transmissions. I'll bet they are hard to keep clean with those white frames. (Click photos to make larger)
  3. Thanks. I found out why I couldn't find it, if only shows up in Internet Explorer. (I'm using Firefox)
  4. Sweet! I can't wait to try it out. I can't try it here at home though becasue I have poor signal. Also, I might be having a "blonde moment" but I can't seem to find the link at the bottom that your referring to.
  5. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
  6. Ahh, ok, that makes sense. I do have pics of a few of the "Wilkes-Barre Materials" trucks, I know there in a partnership with American Asphalt, but I personally believe its only a matter of time before H&K takes them over entirely.
  7. Thanks for the info! So does that mean that they had only one Cat powered RD? And yes, I have seen Hazleton's RD600, I only wish I could catch it parked to get a pic of it. Also, any idea why Pikes Creek Site Contractors have a few Kenworths? I remember they were originally red with grey boxes but were painted in the last year or so ago and now say "Pikes Creek Asphalt" on the door. Are these "private" contractors trucks?
  8. That would explain why their older RDs don't sound like Macks. Are all of their Granites Mack 460s? or just the tractors? Also, does H&K have any of the newest Granites (CTP/GU)? When the MP Engines were first released, they interview someone from H&K talking about "their" new MP powered Granite, but they never really showed the truck, all you could see was the grille in the background. It appeared to be a Granite axle back.
  9. I know Worldwide Equipment had a "2007" DM for sale last year. And if my memory serves correctly, I saw a few DM cabs off to the side at Macungie this past summer.
  10. Just for the record, my uploaded pics can be found here: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/568553239Gpqkus
  11. Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm not very good with identifying old trucks. I notice the letting on the side said "State of Connecticut". Do any of you know approximately what year it could be?
  12. I have quite a few pics of their new(er) Granite dumps. In fact I just got pics of one of their 06/07 Granites yesterday Once I round them up, I'll be willing to share them.
  13. I think they might want to park these trucks a bit closer. I think a squirrel might still fit through. Better watch the mirrors when moving these. Sounds tasty eh?
  14. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what kind of truck this is? I haven't the slightest idea.
  15. Sorry to be a pain, but I have one more pic request. If anyone has a hi-res version of the picture below, or a close-up of that yellow Granite single axle, I'd love to see it. If you'd rather email it than post it, let me know and I'll give you my email address. Thanks in advance, Dave
  16. Sweet! Thanks for sharing. I still can't believe that Mack used just 1 Titan for all their promotional videos, shows, and photos.
  17. Well, for starters, you are correct, the DMV should have a CDL book for you to read, and in that, it will outline the steps needed to obtain a CDL. I would recommend lining up a truck to practice on before you get your permit. I say that because for me, between school, work, and an experienced driver's availability, the 1 year expiration date on the permit came up fast. Since I really didn't have any friends in the "trucking" industry, I used a school bus as my practice vehicle; however, it did end up costing a little bit more due to the additional permits and training required for the school bus. I'll end by noting that if you're really looking into entering the trucking industry, I would definitely try to train and practice in an actual truck, because even though I now have a Class B CDL, I still don't know how to drive a manual transmission, and I'm very dependent on those crossview mirrors, which very few trucks have.
  18. The Republicans won't be getting my vote this year.
