  1. It turns out, its not exactly the same, but similar. Here's a pic.
  2. I saw my first Titan in person today. It was delivered to our Mack dealer in preparation for Wednesday's Performance Tour. It is a bright yellow tandem tractor. I, of course, got a bunch a pics and will post them in a little while if anyone's interested. (It looks to be the same as this one I must say....quite an impressive truck! My dad also saw one a few weeks ago traveling down I-80 on a flatbed. It was a blue tri axle dump with an aluminum box. Sadly, no pics
  3. Thanks! That's a nice truck, I hope it shows up at my local Performance Tour, maybe I can take it for a spin...
  4. Looks like it was a great show. I wish I could have made it. I can't wait to see a Titan in person. Hey Barry, you wouldn't happen to have any more pics of the Granite in this picture would you? http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/bigma...08/100_2238.jpg
  5. Very sad to hear. I guess that puts an end to my annual trips to the World Headquarters...... Best of luck to all those affected by this.
  6. I did have fun. This year was only my 2nd trip down. I must say the plant tour SUCKED! I thought I'd find the Titan around somewhere, whether at the show, plant, or World Headquarters, but no luck. Anyway, I enjoyed seeing all those old B-Model Macks, especially that restored green B-61 tandem dump, that was my favorite.
  7. I've seen the TerraPros as Dump/Plow trucks, line painters (as mentioned above), and roll-offs. And here's a roll-off: http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/detail....5464952D6790D0D
  8. Here were two new Mack MRUs that passed through my dealer. Not sure what their problem was. The line striper had its dash ripped apart....
  9. Welcome fellow Northeast Pa'er. And yes, it is nice to see some more people my age here too.
  10. Its $4.09 here off of Rt. 6 in PA as of this morning. (Reg. Uleaded is $3.21)
  11. That is nice. The salesman at my Mack dealer ordered a few CH Rawhides, but he was told they were unavailable at the time. Instead, Mack sent CHU613s that were "tricked out" like a Rawhide. On the little badge on the right hand dash panel it said "Special Edition MP-8".
  12. http://www.internationaltrucks.com/LoneStar/ I think its hideous. Someone said it looks like a PT Cruiser, and I agree.
  13. Nice, I think they need to put some air in that left front tire. I love the "stock yard" at the assembly plant, you never know what you'll find there.
  14. A few weeks ago there was a pack of new MRs broke down a my local Mack dealer, not sure what the problem was though. They were bound for Canada. One of them stayed there for a few weeks, the other 3 were sent on after a week. The last MR on the stack has the old ASET engine, note the old front end. When I was at the plant in June, I was amazed at how many "old" engines were still being used in trucks, I guess they were leftover engines made back in 2006.
  15. Well I figured I'd bring this back up since I have actually driven 2 Freightliners since I last posted. One of them was a 2004 Thomas FS-65 (School Bus), and for those who may not know, it rides on an FL-70 chassis. The other was a 2007 Thomas C2 (also a School Bus), which rides on an M2 chassis. Both buses had air ride suspension and air ride seats; however the FS-65 was definitely a "Freightshaker" the C2 rode much better. Both buses also the the Mercedes Benz MBE906 engine of which I was very impressed with.
  16. No, I didn't think you were all sitting on wooden boxes . See, in my area, the older Macks look like they've gone through hell and back--as in they are not very well cared for, except for a few. I personally like to see vehicles relatively clean and in good shape, granted I know it is very hard to keep a work truck clean in most conditions, but at least wash it once a month. Therefore, when I see all these old Macks around here with dented hoods, ripped seats, switches broken off on the dash, it turns me away and I turn towards the clean shiny Granites. (And yes I have seen Granites that look like they've gone through hell and back too). As far as the cabs go, it was my understanding that the R model cabs were not as "spacious" as a CV/CX/CH/CL cab. Someone here said that the seat in a DM was slightly off center from the steering wheel making it a bit uncomfortable over a long day. I'm glad to hear to hear that your truck is comfortable, and I have always liked the looks of the RD, and as long as it has the options I've mentioned above and that its comfortable, I wouldn't mind having one. I do know however, that new Granite/Pinnacle cab is 4" bigger than the previous version giving more belly room. Once I finally get my CDL, I hope to drive some of these trucks and find out for myself how they are. So far, the only Mack I've ever ridden in was a 2008 Granite so thats all I really know.
