  1. Will Mack ever get the Allison TC10 as an option? That may add too much weight?
  2. Jacobson Companys,DeMoines Ia.all Macks a few Volvo's which are older. SouthernAG Athens Ga mostly Macks. Big M trucking in Ms.mostly Macks.
  3. I feel the day is getting near on ordering that new Mack.Wish me luck the boss will pull through. If it is not a good move I'll never hear the end of it.I feel Mack is the right move for fuel mileage, power and little or no down time.I through in my 2 cents.
  4. My mother was waitress at Atkinson. Not much left.Motel that was attached was burnt down. That was in in late 60's
  5. I remeber the day a truck rolled down the hill and into the hall between fuel desk and resturant
  6. 5 lbs of air on that valve makes a big difference.Especially if your trying to equilize while still moving to scale.
  7. not much help, but having an equalizer valve will give you even ground pressure on both axles
  8. 2:66 rears with M-Drive and single od at .78 at 65mph rpm's should be about 1100 in od
  9. Per eaton with 2:64's .78 @ 1300= 73.4 mph .78 @ 1100= 62 mph 1.0 @ 1300= 57.3 mph 1.0 @ 1100= 48.4 mph 3:08 .78 @ 1300= 62 mph .78 @ 1100= 57.5 mph
  10. A follow up to Superdog. He said a friend had a Mack/ Volvo dealer dealer pushing Volvo.I asked my dealer and he said he would get what I wanted. He's not pushing one way or other.
  11. Dealer has Mack with M-Drive single od,445E,2:66 rears. Also has a Volvo with 445EX,3:08 rears and I-Shift single OD.Which one of these combinations looks best.I run 65 to 63 in Wi and 5 states around.Denver once in a while and Sc from central Il. My ISX is sending me to the poor house.Money is not the problem its the down time.I'm still looking at the 2:66 direct but Keven Rutherford says he likes the 2:66 single OD.Which is confusing cause he always goes for direct drive.I've got an e-mail to him to clear this up.
  12. I talked to dealer and he will sell what ever I want.
  13. I have an "08" ISX in an IH 9200.It has 7600000 miles or more.I have manual guages. The idiot lite comes on at several times and says the oil pressure is at "0" and the guage says 32psi.So if I have oil and water it goes down the road. Its been that way since new.I run Schaeffer synthetic oil.I will retire before I run an ISX.Only good engine is Volvo/Mack.I hope I can get one to prove my point.
  14. One dealer sells both and will lease what ever we want.We are looking at leasing.Another dealer where I park my truck is part of a multi dealership owner and they only do Mack.Good point we should see what he is recomending and why.
  15. There seams to be a lot of class action law suits against Volvo Engine problems posted on web search.
  16. On 12-22 13 at 05:49 am Dirtymilkman posted under topic/33961-new mack- motors;Quote Actually the MP's are different from volvos.Besides the software,Mack runs a different type of egr and cooler.I thought maybe they had different cam profiles too.
  17. Looking at new trucks.Have a local dealer that sells both.Looking at MP8's 445E or 455 on both and M-Drive on both.I read on hear that the EGR and DPF has different softwear. And maybe fuel system is a little different. The Mack has twin"Y" that is supose to improve tire wear by 30%.Mack apears to have an edge on fuel mileage. What do you think? My personal choice is direct drive with 2:64's
  18. Any one have traction control on their new Mack or Volvo? How does it work for you?It is a $900 up charge on new truck.Do you think its worth it if running Mn,Wi, in winter?
  19. I agree on the Canada.If I was 10yrs younger I would be gone tomorrow.Or go back to Sweden.I am 63.
  20. I had an International cabover,1999 with 470 Detroit,10 speed direct.Yearly avg fuel was 6.8 hauling 79000.It would pull Mt Eagle in top hole and maybe drop 1 gear if I forgot to wind it up at the start of hill.
