  2. ok thanks for that,,,,,this box has definitely been apart before,,,,
  3. wow,,,,i dont think ive ever seen them,,,,,but those pots remind me of something we used to use in my area back in the day for road construction you would light them in stick in the problem area,,,they were full of kerosene,,,,that was way before environmentalist were calling all the shots.lol.bob
  4. picked up the new lines,a little while ago, holy cow,,,everytime i do business ,with this place the prices get higher,,,but he did put new ends on the pressure side,,,im not doing anything today rest day
  5. Oh, OK. Well, I can put the wheel on anyway I want there is no notch in the spline
  6. No, that’s not it. I already looked at those a long time ago, but thanks for that.
  7. I don’t think the last time this box was apart. They had it timed properly because it used to turn sharper one way and I don’t remember which way it was now.
  8. Take it apart again no that’s not gonna happen. If something goes slow with this box I’m just going to order a rebuilt. That thing was way too much work.
  9. My spline allows you to put the wheel wherever you want. I’ll put it together and drive it around a little bit and find Straight Centerpoint and yes, I have drivin trucks with an off steering wheel. that will drive you nuts.
  10. I don’t know what happened. I checked the timing three times and the timing mark is way off. I’m going to have to put it in a different position right now. I can’t get it to go on at all. I don’t know what happened. I’ll have to get something too file the spline Slightly. I’m going to run out in a little while and take the lines down. Glad this thing is almost finished.
  11. i havent been to one in 45 years,,,they had one in my home town,,,as far as nascar,,,i quit watching them when UPS and fedex both went to jap cars,,,and i drank bud wiser beer for years,,,till they sold the company,,,,,i switched to pabst i dont know what they did to thier beer,,,,but it didnt taste right after the sale ,lol.bob
  12. thats all i got,,,they were ordered for a 68 U model...not sure about fit,,,,left side pieces,,,bob
  13. woohoo its back in,,,,started to remove the oil lines so i can run them down in the morning....and have new ones made....i released a hold down bracket, underneath with made the oil lines come flying down ,,,and i got oil all over my clothes so that was it ,,came in for the day...bob
  14. that ingenious paul thanks,,,ok here goes nothing
  15. and yes working alone sometimes does not help at all and paul your right about big rig parts everything is so heavy,,,,i put that air starter in when i was only 39,,,but gotta better one pulled transmission and transfer case out of my 70 chevy pickup when i was around 20 myself with just a floor jack,,,,that was quite the trick
  16. Thanks for all your suggestions. My little 3/8 rod is not going to work for some reason. I was thinking the both holes went through the case and were open on the other side. No, they are not sub scratch that running around done going to eat them and run out there
  17. Ha ha, hell put that thing back in the closet about a month ago Mrs. mower was bugging me. Hey fat stuff either put that model together and get it off my kitchen table, but thanks for the peptalk.
  18. OK, I found the perfect specimen out of my workshop. Looks like a old carburetor linkage maybe a kick down lever 3/8 course thread about 8 inches long that should do it more progress in a while.
  19. And yes, I’ve adjusted the chain three different times trying to get the right angle. Getting really frustrated since my long awaited. Summer is going away. I’m struggling to think all I’m gonna get done this summer as the staring box and a rare axle seal and it’s gonna be too cold to do anything With a fiber glass
  20. Thanks I think I’ve talked myself into running a smaller bolt through one of the holes first I think I have a big chunk of 3/8 threaded rod. I have to go out take care of a couple of things. I’ll take a look and see if I have it handy, if not, I’ll stop and pick something up. Thanks for that Dave.
  21. I was also thinking of pushing a smaller bolt through everything and tightening it with a nut that way it would be somewhat lined up and at least Straight
