  1. Just got a call back. It's an "LF" 1950 vintage Packer
  2. Just talked to a guy here in Wyoming about a "KLJ" mack. Thought he was full of it and kinda' hinted that! But now I'm not sure. "LJ's" I understand. KLJ's ? a little help here would be great!! Thanks, Packer
  3. Could it be that a piston in the dynatard is sticking? Was the Dynatard rebuilt? Silnoid routes oil through the passage ways and holds a small piston down. When the power is pulled off, (12 volt) the piston should move back (up) and all is well. Pull the one that is hanging up and check for scoring. A little bit of polishing is too much! Replace/rebuild and see if that wont fix it! Packer
  4. Doing some work on a TRD 670. Getting it ready for warm weather (If that ever happens). Found a cracked/broken ear on the input shaft bearing cover. It's had a rough life the last few years, getting moved from here to there more than once! Finally found a really good project for the trans and now this!! So-o-o-o I hope some one has a housing that will fix my problem! Any one out there got such an item? Other than that the trans looks really good. Please e-mail or call if you've got one. Pressures not on yet!! Packer packer@bigmacktrucks.com (307)871-4577
  5. I've always used a heavy steel plate turned just under sized with a step cut in it to match the inside of the liner. A hole is drilled in the center and a threaded rod run through it. A hydrolic cylinder that has a hole thru it is placed on a stand and the thing was jacked up and pulled the liner. Might be a hassle, but it worked every time and when you got thru, the thing was always there for the next time you needed it. No goobers from welding dropping on the crank shaft and all 6 were pulled in an hour or so. DM's were special because #5 cylinder set under the firewall and took lots of extra stuff to keep the thing coming out. Fast, clean and easy! Packer
  6. Most old transmissions and diff's have a hole about half way between fill and drain plugs. Thats where the senders go. As far as ohm readings go, I don't have a clue! You can drop the sender in a pot of water and bring it to boil - - - that's 212 degrees and go from there. Packer
  7. Olivetroad: Dodge has a vacumm pump for operating brakes, heater vents and such. Packer
  8. I don't have the smarts to draw a schmatic and poet it but - - - the power flow is: 1)From the 'Hot' buss bar to a fuse or breaker 2)Fuse or breaker to the dash switch 3)Then I run mine to the clutch switch (As HK stated, "Adjusted correctly") 4)Clutch switch to the pump/fuel linkage switch (Adjusted correctly) 5)To the Jake boxes A test light or multimeter clipped onto each switch will help troubleshoot and adjust each switch. Might also check for broken wire or loose connections I can't remember a switch ever going bad but it can happen. Usually just needs tweeking. Packer
  9. 20in cross over to 22.5 tubeless (one piece) 22in are 24.5 tubeless The differant wheels are: Dayton Budd And the newest have piloted studs/nuts Packer
  10. GET YOUR RING YET? "I promise 100% transparency in my administration." "I promise NO NEW TAXES on a family making less than $250K a year." "I will allow 5 days of public comment before I sign any bills." "I will remove earmarks for PORK projects before I sign any bill." "I will end Income Tax for seniors making less than $50K a year" "I'll put the Health Care negotiations on CSPAN so everyone can see who is at the table!" "I'll have no lobbyists in my administration" Did you get yours yet? Me, neither. Demand is too great...
  11. Something not mentioned is the fact that you ALWAYS shift the stick going up first! ie: Three speed from lo to hi, then 5th to 4th on the down shift Packer
  12. I've got 3 18 speeds and would swap in a heart beat!! Packer
  13. A bit of help: Use .023 wire in a wire feed welder (gas shielded) and if you have a feed guide somewhere, set the feed at just under the gage of the dash metal. Packer
  14. A glad hand and an air hose chuck and an air line would work. Glad hand with air line quick conect. Air hose and another quick connect in the air tank. Hook them all togother and then switch the valve in the 'Jumper' truck. Trucks with air-start all had that in the tool box (in the day). Packer
