On Long Island we already have the state the county and the sheriffs all doing truck inspections, that's more than enough to keep us busy..all most forgot the dec,but they just do mostly emissions tests.

You can use roof or window flashing from home dopy, same stuff for a fraction of the price, used it on my RD years back and it took all the vibration noise out of the metal..Looks great. I'm thinking of putting something like that in a few areas of my cab(where I can get it to stick anyway). Anything to kill the drone/cut the noise.
Man, I'm SOOOO jealous of these nice, clean, rustfree cabs!!!!!
-
Nobody could be that gay, could they?lolI figgered someone would beat me to that conclusion. He's either very disciplined or very gay.
-
Might be time for cab mount bushings, not a big deal if that's the problem.

If they only made tubeless 24'' I'd have em on my cl all the way around, love the look of the big rubber! My dad put 12R24s on our superliner. It looks a lot better than the original 11R24. It makes the truck look tougher, are stronger, and fills up the wheel wells.
-
-
Are these for the Superliner,if so I would save up and get 12.00's the taller rubber will look much better, just my 2 cents..

Years back I hooked up a charger to my dm800 walked away and both battery's exploded, sounded like a double blast from a shot gun..I overcharged an old battery a few years ago. It exploded. Wear goggles or cover the battery up.

The straps are the way to go but from what I read online you need a strap rated for double the weight of the truck you are recovering, they are very pricy for the upper ratings, they come up to 12 inches wide for the extra heavy loads, sure wish I had one for this blizzard, using a chain was not only a pain but not very effective..TSC has these: http://www.tractorsupply.com/erickson-recover-strap-with-loops-55-000-lb-maximum-3040114
They've got smaller ones, too, for less money. 27K, 18K, 10K ratings in addition to that 55K strap.
-
That's the only downside I can see because they will run rings around a std trans empty or loaded...I have a freind that drives a dump truck which has a automatic. Brakes two times a year.
-
Just saw this, thats it but its a flat strap and way much heaver, never saw one to buy in the truck shops, gonna look on line for one..I used to have a snatch rope, used it for four wheeling, mud bogging. It was a big blue rope, and you could hook it to a stuck truck with lots of slack in it and take off ''hammer down'' to pull the stuck truck and it wouldn't break. I later made a tire swing for the kids out of it.
-
Not a cable it looks like the flat tie down straps but much wider and thicker with hooks on each end, kinda like a snatch strap, lol you know what I mean..Steel cable is even worse when it breaks. It will go through steel with enough force.
-
What about those tow straps, look like they work pretty good on the show ice road truckers, they hook em up and take off like a bat out of hell..

I see the Acting Highway supervisor resigned today because he went away during the storm and nobody was running our show. Paul
LOL the Supervisor was on vacation and the acting superintendent of hwy was out the whole storm with a tooth ache, what a wimp,It wouldn't make any difference any how,to few trucks and way to much snow, there gonna get there asses kicked anyway...I see the Acting Highway supervisor resigned today because he went away during the storm and nobody was running our show. Holy chit, what a storm, did 70 hrs strait for the Town of Brookhaven, they were totally out gunned, they have so few trucks and most of the contracted trucks are pickups, all the pickups quit on Friday night, they couldn't push the snow, blowing trans and just getting stuck,I had to put full loads of sand on my trucks to get around and was still having trouble, been plowing for 40 years and never saw a storm as bad as this..

What's the latest? Is there a Noreaster coming or something?
Yes Noreaster for sure, there talking feet of snow for some with blizzard conditions...
-
Got my plow ready for 24+in
Are you in the blizzard watch area, there saying 75 mph gusts here, blood money but I need it..

Could also be from a weak power steering pump or low on fluid or clogged filter!
-
A quick way to check for leaks is to spray some starting fluid on the all the intake connections while the truck is idling!
-
I believe Michelin and Goodyear offer one peace caps with the original tread style, one piece is the way to go, keep the air up so they don't get to hot..

I like the bull-it style for the newer trucks, getting one for my cl,the old style flat type look better on the flat hood rd and dm and rw trucks..

amber in front, red in rear -Brad
+ 1 and no head lights on the rear of the truck, lol
