  1. The man that owns Tri State Mack in Memphis just got his MH back from the paint shop. They did a really nice job, but I'm not sure what's up with the black grille. It was chrome when it left the lot. I'm pretty sure it's a 4v 300 with a T2100 Mack 10 speed on a light duty camelback. 600K miles, CLEAN interior and budd wheels. I've been trying to talk him out of it for over a year now, but with no luck so far.
  2. It's kind of a sad deal.. None of us are willing to dish out $10 grand for it, but somebody on the Ivory Coast will, and it's one less clean old r model left in the states.
  3. I dated a girl for a while that had a blonde friend that asked " who is this Jake Brake guy? He must be some kind of an outlaw. There's all these little towns that he's not allowed in."
  4. Looks like Brockway five spoke front hubs... Sweet looking truck, though!
  5. Kind of like the place down in MS that advertises on Truckpaper. It could be a 1971 R685 with a 237, 5 speed, and 34k slung-under suspension, but it's advertised as having an E7 460 BIG POWER!!!!, 8LL, and 44K camelback HEAVY DUTY!!!!! I still don't know who buys truck there.
  6. Check out the new parts list. My favorite is new 6 volt battery and starting fluid.
  7. A little steep, but she's clean! http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4082645

Glad to hear nobody got hurt. That's the kind of thing that keeps the temptation of becoming anything bigger than an owner-operator down for me. I believe if you have one foot or hand on the truck and the other on the ground, you complete the circuit and it's lights out. I could be wrong, though.
  9. My dirt business has been pretty slow the past couple of months, and I had a friend that just started farming and wanted to get into trucking, so I helped him pick out a truck. It's a nice ride, an '05 Vision flat top. I had been running it hauling grain for a couple of weeks off and on. It's the newest, nicest truck I've ever driven, and it's a MACK! I had a dirt job come up so he had another guy come in to drive it. He said, "Oh, it's a Mack? Well, I was really hoping for a nice truck but I guess it'll have to do." He drove it for an hour, got it loaded, brought it back, and said he just can't drive anything but a Pete or a KW and it has to be at least a 2010 model. He just can't stand driving junk. Man, if i'd have been there, I believe it would have been very difficult to resist the urge to bitch slap that punk.
  10. I love all these old R model pics. Thanks alot for posting them.. There's still quite a few left running around here, but sadly none are near as photogenic as the ones y'all have been posting. I don't know what it is, but trucks don't seem to get taken care of down here in the South near as well as you guys in the Midwest and North do, with a few exceptions, of course. It looks like the drivers and the owners of the trucks you have pics of truly took pride in what they did for a living. I've been driving and running equipment for a living for about ten years now, and I've seen a huge difference in the average truck driver's attitude and performance in that short period of time. 9 out of 10 drivers I know are just there for a paycheck. They don't care what they tear up, if the truck is clean or in good condition. Not to be a downer, but it really saddens me to think what the next generation is going to be like. I'm afraid all of us Mack guys are a dying breed. At least we've got Vinny to carry the torch! LOL
  11. I think most people think two sticks mean twice the work, and most people are afraid of aforementioned ''work," sadly enough.
  12. Sweet! I like the five spoke front hubs.
  13. Man I bet they'd just about give it to you... Distance from AR to NY may be an issue, though.. How about you get the two hot chicks from shipping wars to shoot you a shipping quote!!
  14. Is that Dennis Mehan's old truck? I met him at the ATHS show in Auburn in 2005?? Super nice guy. I heard he had an accident and sold the truck recently. Is that true?
  15. Nice! Looks like something's missing in front of the driver's door.
  16. I feel your pain, brother. I'm sitting in the truck waiting on the gas company to show up to fix the line I just cut. Only had four loads of old footings to load up and haul off, and only had $900 in the job. Didn't call one call since it was going to be such a quick, simple project. Mama said there'd be days like this.
