  1. It is worth staying up and watching. I couldn't sleep for hours after watching the Shootout last night. Guess my own life is pretty boring for that to get me so worked up.
  2. Guys like that don't care about anything but making a buck. Most of them barely speak english. They like the macks cause the guys in africa or wherever can't tear'em up like lesser trucks. If a truck gets stolen around here it usually winds up at the port before anyone notices it is even missing.
  3. Does that little tractor have the starter on the gear shift? My grandpa almost lost his had when I was little and 'shifting gears' while he was under the hood. Found out the hard way how that tractor started. Boy, did I get in trouble.
  4. Those old motors worked good because they could idle all day long and never get hot. Bet they used quite a bit more fuel than the 4 bangers.
  5. Try to figure out a way to keep it, they aren't making any more of them.
  6. The guy wanted the wrecker bed so he kept it and the PTO. I would rather have it to haul hay or pull my gooseneck. Probably start looking for a set of air ride tandems that already has a fifth wheel and go that route. We need to get my dad's B-42 put back together and then we will start on this one. Someone did some poor body work on the back of cab so it really needs to get redone. The ol' truck runs great and seems to have a real tight front end. Sure would hope to have it put together to hit some shows this summer, we'll see. R
  7. Yes, I think that it will be a fine ride oneday! Not that there is much wrong right now.
  8. Got loaded up and back. Truck was a wrecker and I got the cab and chasis.
  9. HA...Why do you think I am leaving today? I hate baths! Got a little freight going each way to help pay for this little fiasco. Besides, that hides the fact from my wife I bought something else!
  10. Leaving out this (Saturday) afternoon for the 1000 mile trip to Florida. Hopefully, I don't regret my purchase once I lay eyes and hands on the truck. Sure it will be fine.
  11. I don't know how anyone found any toys to buy without craigslist or ebay! Guess we just sat around with pockets full of money.
  12. I bought a B-61 from that guy in Orlando.....Going to pick it up this weekend. Supposedly he has a B-42 that needs a motor, seems pretty straight, bud wheels not too bad.
  13. I figured some of you guys knew him when I saw that show the other night. Guess he is in Central Louisiana somewhere, huh? Looks like a cool place to look around.
  14. Yes, that is what I need. Took one out of a B75 and broke it. probably put in wrong spot and it snapped.
  15. Thanks for giving us a chance to get to 'know' him. Hope someone will look at me that way someday!!
  16. Thanks I'll look into it. Dad and I are both pretty tall, our knees thank you for the tip.
  17. What motor came out of a B-42. We have one with 108k original miles. Just pulled last fall. All it needs is water pump.
  18. I would have to look at an R model and see.....Don't guess it would be too hard to mount up under dash. Have you ever seen anyone do that in a B model cab???
  19. Putting a 673 with tri-plex in a B-42. Need cluthch linkage. Broke the old one out of donor truck. Contact me through site, please.
  20. Hey Guys, I just sent a guy a check to hold a B-61! Gonna hook up the drop deck and go to get it next week. I'll post some pictures of the ol girl soon as I get loaded.
  21. My dad had one just like that when I was a kid. Rode many a trip to New Mexico hauling hay. The cat he sold it to turned it into a stinkin' dump truck.
  22. Have you ever thought of just putting a walkin sleeper with a couple of couches on the side? Seems like it would be alot of less work. BTW welcome to the 'pound'
  23. Sure glad to know that I won't be an outcast after I finish mine. The plan is to splice it together with a newer frame and rears that I have. Plan on using it to go to pulls instead of wearing out my pick-up. BTW any one know where I can get my hands on a tri or quadraplex?
  24. Thanks Paul, looking forward to getting the motor from you and lettin' her rip!
  25. That thing sure is nice. What does everyone think about modernizing those trucks. Part of me does not want to hurt the integrity of the older trucks, but air ride sure is nice.
